"removal of an extremely appealing feature"? I didn't know that the Emotion Engine was that popular.

The only thing you're getting less of is BC, and you don't even know how much less, or is a PS2 chip that important to you?

[QUOTE="asmallchild"]Yes it's a problem They are coming out with the slimline PS3 tomorrow. You should wait. The slimline PS3 is a great buy tomorrow. PS4 will come in tomorrow too. You should pick both of em up.

lol, there were some problems (I haven't had any personally) but most have been fixed and I haven't heard about anything really major recently.

even so, it still looks just as good as the new screens.michael098
I'd say the newer ones look even better though. Also, I can confirm that screen is 100% in-game with someone at the controls.

it's pretty funny because the benefits far outweigh the problems. If you have a psp you would know about there great ps1 emu that can basically play any ps1 game you want. I believe the same can probably be applied to the ps2 emu for the ps3. i doubt it will be lower than 70% B/C and even if it is knowing sony that B/C will quickly raise due to their FW updates. onemic
I have a PSP myself, unfortunately I live in a rural area so I don't have access to broadband so I can't go online. One of my friends should be getting his hooked up soon and then I'll be able to finally setup an account and get a few downloads, although I'll wait on the PS1 games until you can play them on PS3 too.

??? they can easily give current PS3 owners software emulation from a FW update. I'm guessing this wasn't done sooner because their emulators weren't ready yet. onemic
That's what they said last year before the PS3 even launched when people were talking about BC. Sony came out and told everyone they were still working on software emulation and it wasn't done yet and that they would switch over to it as soon as they felt it was ready to help reduce costs. It just so happens that they finished it before the Euro launch and decided to give them the latest hardware, unfortunately people are too wrapped up in potential problems to think about any possible benefits.

Not when playing them, when you first start one up and have to hit the PS button to reconnect.
