Well that sucks...hopefully the PS4 allows for all regions.
There are a fair few games that aren't released in Australia I like buying and added onto that sometimes it's just easier buying the games overseas. Incredibly frustrating if this gets put in place on all consoles.
Perhaps it will track us when not being used, perhaps it won't, honestly none of us will ever know and I don't really want to go too far down that paranoia route (even if it is at the back of a few of our minds).
But the thing is it *will* be watching us whenever we use the Xbox for gaming or watching TV etc, you may be fine with it, but I honestly find it a bit concerning and off-putting.
"The latter may include tracking your lounge room to check you’re there, or asking you to "display a product that is imaged by a camera, and the computing system may identify the product"."
From that it seems like it is tracking what you are doing/using etc in order to gather information.
I personally don't need nor want that extra little constant in-look into my life. If I could just turn it off it would be better, but from what I've read, you can't.
I am hoping and praying that the PS4 won't go down the same path. It's not so much for me that I can't buy used games (although that is a factor), but the the fact that I don't even seem to own these games. Also a huge question mark for me, is how does this work with shared consoles? I think I should be able to freely use a game I bought within the same house without having to pay extra fees if someone else wants to use it.
I don't know what I'll do if it is true. I want a console for its exclusives...but urrgh all this stupid crap we have to deal with to get it. =.=
Fingers still crossed that PS4 does that right thing.
Putting aside the whole TV focus the new Xbox seems to have and the utter stupidity of the idea, I don't want my kinect watching me and giving me achievements while I watch TV. That in all honesty, creeps me out lol.
Right, but if there is no fee then they still need a way to determine the game has been "fairly" traded? Otherwise people in theory could just buy one copy of a game and trade it around to 100 different people to let them download it onto their console for free.
That does make a bit of sense, but then does this mean you have to through a retailer or something similar if you want to say give the game to someone else?
