Hey, this problem is happening to ALOT of people (includeing me) its VERY annoying and i think the only option is to wait for lionhead to bring out a patch for the game which could take months.
http://community.lionhead.com/forums/81/ShowForum.aspx take a look around there and you might find a solution. It also gives you an idea of how many glitches are in this game.
just a quick question tho. does the sound cut out before it all freezes???
