Sounds like a memory leak of some type. Try running the game in XP compatibility mode. And, of course...make sure you have the newest drivers.

Opening programs is more about hard drive speed. You should definitely get faster encoding with your media files though. Just let the program use the affinity it wants to.

The more potential core support, the better.

It is definitely better than the futureshop computer! That 4870 is leaps and bounds above the 4650 and 8 GB of RAM is overkill at the moment unless you are doing some heavy video/photo editing while playing flash games in six separate browser windows with Crysis open in another.

One problem. We didn't land on the moon at all.

Is this the problem you have? Or is it the other mountains of evidence against you?

An ISO is an image file that can be burned to a disc. This disc will then be bootable and allow you to install the Windows 7 RC.

I wouldn't mess with the BIOS if you are unfamiliar with computers.

If you are going to be doing any type of gaming...please get this card instead:

http://www.pricewatch.com/browse/video_cards/radeon_hd_4850

You may need to go with a little bigger power supply but definitely take both back to the store and order online...you can get so much better deals from places like:

www.pricewatch.com or

www.newegg.com

This is all...assuming you have a PCI Express slot...which I am almost positive you do.
