Splinter Cell is coming out in two weeks. I would say most people will wait for that game rather then pay any money to play Dark.

Any other mmo getting 7.7 million subscribers would be considered highly successful. Its not really a surprise people are stopping, its nine year old and people will move on to other games.

@LordCrash88 Much of the decline is probably coming from corporate purchasing. I remember many businesses bought millions of computers two years ago creating a surge, now all those PCs are bought its going to created a steep decline. There will be another surge in a couple of years from now.

IDC is partially accurate in the decline of the PC. They are only recording of prebuilt PCs from major manufactures like HP and Dell but does not include any reports by anyone who build their own or buy from an independent builder. The report is covering the entire spectrum of the PC market and doesnt segment on each market.

People buying or building PCs for video games, that market is still strong and healthy.

Is buying the 700 series worth it?

I think that depends on who you ask. Someone who still have a GTX 280 and wants to upgrade their PC hardware, the 700 series would be good option for them to consider.
