Plus, they will probably make it fun and E, so even if JT or any numb nuts want to defile the 1st amendment AGAIN, kids can still play something like that (disguise as nice creatures)

Get a WiiPlay if: -You NEED a wiimote, and cannot get one by itself. wiiPlay isn't that bad for $10. Get DKR DS if: -You prefer VC games, and do not need that wiimote that badly.

Exactly. Of course, if you believe that the $10 dollars is better spend on VC games, then you would believe WiiPlay suck big time.

Okay, here's the deal: if you just want games that actually use the wiimote features, then WiiPlay isn't that bad. If you are buying for yourself, you may consider getting a VC game to be better investment.

While this is a speculation, I believe that this is how Nintendo will make DVD play on Wii. Now, I think the main reason why Nintendo stated that "this will be more than firmware update" is due to the fact that they had not pay the DVD forum for its license fee. However, Nintendo also licensed a software engine to play DVD, which means that by its self, it is a DVD drive.

So basically, it's gonna be xbox again: you will have to buy the software engine, in order to either open a DVD channel, OR enable you do download a version that enables you to read DVD.

Since it's gonna be pure software, I would guess you can get it from Wii Ware shop, and paid with Wii points. the question is: would you? And how much?

Okay, I had recently found out that my wii is getting a bit hot, and from I heard from others, I may want to check if there are any miisles during play. All these are due to wiiconnect24 standby, which is why i turned the standby mode off for now.

Do you think I should put it in Standby mode and risk overheating it, or just leave standby off? If on, and does overheat, what do I need in order to get Nintendo fix my overheated wii?

WarioWare, since WiiPlay should be think of as "wiimote + a so-so game" for $10 more than wiimote only. on the other hand, if you ran out of controllers, then wiiPlay is a good choice.

Recently, the computer science students of my university hosted a LAN party, and as usual, people brought a console—in our case, Wii (which is mine) and a PS2 for GH. Funny thing is that, despite all the budgets (shiny 1600x1080 projector, the only video in is a composite, 480i video). add to the fact that it's projected on one of those seminar rooms screens (estimate at 90"), and I would guess the graphic sucks...

But guess what? it's perfectly fine. Text are completely legitible, and I do not see any degrading even when the light is on. The only problem is the Wii sensor bar, but that's another story. So between beating the crud out of each other on enemy territoy, we have fun with Wii Sports. (Note: Warioware is too complicated)

When people keep saying that U.S. will get HD soon, and etc. they keep forgetting that there's a nation that's even more looking forward to technology then us: the Japanese. Now, let's be honest, Nintendo is still more Japanese oriented, so quite frankly, for a nation that have more HD sets than us in percentage, certainly they wouldn't be "dumb" enough to just give out 480p only, right?

But they did; they are up against PS3, which is not only more powerful, but also have a SIXAXIS controller and HDMI output. Yet, the Wii outsold PS3 by 3:1 ratio. (Don't throw in 360 since 360 is not welcomed by Japanese simply due to it being western). Clearly, either the Japanese people need to get the eyes check, don't know about electronics, or what I believe is right: it's more important on what is actually provided, then having perfect specs that did not delivered as intended.

For those that use the computer argument, I would suggest you play Quake the original on your highest resolution, then play HL2 on 640x480. even on a lower resolution, HL2's graphic, with all the features turned on, is still more beautiful then Quake on a much higher resolution.

My point is this: it's not how much spec a machine have, it's how well the developer use the existing engine.
