[QUOTE="codezer0"]If you're going to bother with ReadyBoost on the desktop, you may as well use a firewire thumb drive so that you can at least enjoy the hardware benefit of a much higher sustained throughput. That and because firewire doesn't depend on software to handle its I/O duties, so it can run fast and you can enjoy good bandwidth even if your CPU isn't as fast as some top-end $6k rig. . But even as it is, most flash drives are simply much slower than any hard drive you can buy now. Solid State Disk drives are only speedy because they use more volatile RAM modules to generate the storage capacity, and also explains their cost.

Sigh... usb thumb sticks usb 2.0, are 8-10 times faster than hd as a cache file...

First off I would change alot, the antec 900 sure personal choice, qx6700 is a great processor i have it, the qx6800 is coming soon, but its not worth it just oc the qx6700. The evga 680i A1 is your best bet, vista hoem premium yeah sure... Do not get the 8800gtx get the x2900xtx it will pwn it like me in css, a 4gigs of ram you will need to get teh 64 bit version, power supply I would have to reccomend the thermaltake toughpower 750 watt it has 85 efficiency, stable voltages, and actual 720 watts which is incredible. I have never heard of a pci ram card, your pc is as best as it gets for what your parts are If you want to upgrade it get the x1950pro.

Maybe he shouldn't be playing video games. Maybe he I mean I should be doin' Dishes!ShawtyChirp
That was useless, did you monitor temp, this is mostl ikely a faulty card, What are your other specs? If its not heat its probably a defective card. Play a game and check temps, it may be running extremely hot, but if its just some games, it will probably be some diode on the card failed, to handle some new features of games.

To use a microphone plug it in your microphone slot on your soundcard, or motherboard. Once that happens you usually just test it out, and you will hear yourself, theres some software, that will let you just test it, you can just try going into like bf2 or cs:s and do the mic test, or just record your voice with crap windows movie maker.

Well, you could wait for the asus external graphics card for laptops... But i wouldn't expect it soon, and your laptop is nice except for that graphics card, and since you didn't previously have a graphics card, you most likely cannot install a new one, some dell laptops let you replace them.
