UT 3 is a good deal.

Not sure about stranglehold or alone in the dark though.

If I recall alone in the dark bombed pretty badly.

lenson

check out anti-social fatman's video review of the game; a link to his profile is in my sig.

as for those deals, op, i was thinking of pulling the trigger on stalker, but i decided against it; i'll just wait for steam's version to become cheaper. hopefully, steam will have a weekend deal or something on the game. but definitely the ut3 deal is great! ut3 is a good game, people!

No, not really.

Oblivion is sort of a different example from most, as the graphics compliment the feeling (that I had) of being in a simulated living, breathing world; they accentuate the atmosphere much more than other games. But even in that instance, I could play Oblivion on lowest settings (well, except for lowest draw distances, since that actually hinders the gameplay) and still enjoy myself mightily because of all the other things I like about it. The sheer wonder of exploring around might be lessened, but the absolute freedom and all the places there are to find from exploring would still make even that aspect worthwhile for me. The graphics certainly added something to the gameplay, but they weren't even close to being a great part of what made me want to keep playing.

hey, btw, i lost a little respect for those noobtoob guys, cuz they said they didn't like f.e.a.r. in episode 109! :P damn consolites!!!

q6600? you could get a q9550, an e8600, or even a q9650 for that price.

I'll probably buy it when it's a little cheaper. I already played the original version.

The increased performance, shorter loading times, and the extra area & quests are what appeal to Herrick the most.

if you own the original, i believe you can download the enhanced patch or something for free.

If you didn't mean Crysis, which game did you mean?

DragonfireXZ95

mainly, oblivion. whenever i imagine that game with bad graphics, i can't help but think the game would have gotten far lower scores. oblivion's combat just isn't that fun (for me), and if you take the exploring the pretty world aspect away, you've got a subpar rpg with poor combat. but that's just my opinion, and, again, i don't want this to become a flame war.
