fighters are the easiest, imo. always start out as a fighter in your first venture with bg series. make sure to roll the dice plenty of times and get a nice, high roll when creating the character; it's well worth the effort.

[QUOTE="JnWycliffe"][QUOTE="fatshodan"]

Grand Theft Auto 4, Left 4 Dead, Project Origin, Strong Bad Season 1, Dawn of War 2, Crysis Warhead, Empire Total War.

There are many other games I'm looking forward to, but I have reservations about them. The above I know will be awesome.

fatshodan

aha, you didn't list far cry 2. this is proof that you think the game's gonna suck. PROOF!

It's proof that your face is stupid is what it's proof of. I don't list Far Cry 2 because, no, I don't feel certain the game will be great. I know that it can be great, but I simply haven't seen enough to convince me. Same with Mirror's Edge. Could be awesome, but I'm not rolling the hard six.

The others, though, I know will be awesome. Awesome for sure. Awesomer than your face.

no, it's proof that you think far cry 2's gonna suck. there's no other explanation that makes sense, because my face isn't stupid! sure, it's got a crooked nose and small, beady eyes, and a huge, hairy mole in the middle of the forehead, but it's the sheer hideousness of it that makes it awesome. so, no, it's not stupid. far cry 2's stupid! and you just proved beyond a doubt that you agree. trust me - i know stupid.

[QUOTE="wackys"]Aren't his posts just rehashes of stupid arguments he made in the first post?Anyhow great posts fatshodan you really owned him there but what do you mean by short term memory AI?fatshodan

If you attract the attention of the AI, then attract its attention somewhere else, it will remember both instances and check them both out - and more than that, it orders them by priority.

For instance, I threw a stick past an AI, and the AI went to go check it out, then I threw a grenade, and he immediately prioritised and went to explore the explosion, and after finding nothing over there of interest, he came back and checked out the stick before resuming his normal patrols.

I've never seen an AI that has (or has so clearly displayed) an ability to remember and prioritise like that. It's something I've not seen anyone else mention, but it really blew me away. Its actual application as a gameplay device is somewhat limited, but it's still pretty awesome.

it'd be even more amazing if you threw a third object, and he used the three locations to which objects were thrown to calculate where approximately you threw these objects from. and then, upon not finding you in that location, recalculate based on the time in which each objects were thrown and factoring in how quickly a person could have moved between each throw and where you'd have ended up at the end of the third throw. and upon not finding you there, recalculate once again, thinking that perhaps each throw was at different velocities and trajectories. and then, upon finding calculating your exact location to be mathetmatically impossible, run like crazy, far, far away in the direction that he calculates to be least likely you're standing in, because he's totally freaked out. now that would be impressive.

i was xepecting crysis ai to do that and didnt crysis ai is crap CRYSI IS CRAP!

it might be cuz asians aren't good at math, despite what the stereotype might have you believe. so in fact, crysis is awesome and ultra-realistic!!!
