how about this one... it says it only allows audio passthrough though not upconvert..does that matter...damn i wish i knew about speakers better..im a tv buff but not a receiver buff

that does seem a little steep. i would wanna spend around $1000 total if possible. but do any other receivers have what the onkyo does but a bit cheaper? also will the jbls work with that receiver?

ok so thosej jbl speakers look pretty nice, what 1080p receiver could i run my ps3 into and then connect those jbl speakers to the receiver

If they reduce the price and more people buy the system you will end up benefiting from it. More games will come to the system and more gamers will have the system for the online games and Home to make them better.

 yeah, definitely but im just saying maybe for the first 24 hours i would say damn it already dropped and i spent $600.

also if somebody is on the fence of buying a ps3, they are now going to wait im sure so ps3 sales should be low until a drop

If the PS3 was $400 with no Blu-ray, it'd be flying off the shelves. 

it would be an updated ps2 if it without the whole blu-ray experience/ blu-ray discs. The biggest competitor of the ps3 right now is the ps2 because they still have great games (FFXII, GOW2, Odin Sphere, etc) but ps3 is protected for the future. It will be #1 in the end

This could be good for the ps3...even though i already have one and it would kind of suck to see it drop in price from a personal standpoint it would be great for the system and the sales would jump.
