[QUOTE="fidosim"][QUOTE="SaintLeonidas"]So some guy visited a rock...who cares, thats what I think of this.SaintLeonidasSounds like you know a lot about Islam. :P What some guy with a pointy hat does shouldnt matter, this is the point I was getting across. Why shouldn't it matter? Because of his pointy hat? (By the way the pope only wears the miter during liturgical functions, not for everyday situations. And what should matter, some washed up Comedian making insensitive Jokes about Kidney failure and 9/11?

[QUOTE="JoeRatz16"]That's ironic. why because the Pope is Deutsch (German)? All the more reason for the Pope to care about this issue. He also visited the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum.

[QUOTE="SaintLeonidas"]So some guy visited a rock...who cares, thats what I think of this.fidosimSounds like you know a lot about Islam. :P Indeed. I am not Muslim, but I respect Muslims and try not to be a total fool in regard to their beliefs. Let's hope Leonidas never goes to the Middle East and calls the Dome of the Rock "a rock", seriously some people over there might react violently.
[QUOTE="blackngold29"][QUOTE="JoeRatz16"]Wow, I just read your name.... Are you the pope? His press secretary, actually. Wow, smart man. Io Sono Padre Federico Lombardi,SJ., La bocca del Papa.It is a difficult balancing act for him trying to improve relations to both the Jews and the Muslims, if he reaches out too far to one group he may alienate the other.

The Dome of the Rock is a Muslim Mosque in Jerusalem where Muslims believe the Prophet Muhammad ascended into heaven from. As a sign of respect, Benedict removed his shoes before entering. He also visited the Wailing Wall, the holiest site of Judaism, where the ancient temple stood. And he visited Gethsemane where Jesus prayed before he was eventually arrestedand crucified.
The Pope is on a trip to the Holy Land this week. He major goals are to visit Holy Sites, to promote peace, to encourage the small Christian population in the Holy Land and to improve Catholic-Jewish and Catholic-Islamic relations.
So how do you think the trip is going and how will it go? And why have most major News networks been silent on this trip?
Quite frankly this is embarassing to the White House. THis has been a pretty gaffe-prone White House with the stupid Air Force One Statue of Liberty Incident, the Sykes incident, the "bitter people who cling to guns and religion" comment (before Barack became president), The AIG Bonus Issues, The Geithner tax issues, The Daschle Tax issues, the Bill Richardson incident, the Sebelius tax issues.
Indeed. That is just cruel. Just because people disagree with Limbaugh's views doesn't mean they should wish death on him.Yeah, those words were completeley unnecsary. Hoping someone's kidneys fail, no matter who it is, is awful.

[QUOTE="JoeRatz16"]I'm just wondering, does the UN and it's agencies interfere in countrys' domestic laws often?
Oleg_Huzwog
If "interfere" means "voicing disapproval", then yeah. That's kind of what they're supposed to do.
but what business is the proposed amendment to the UN? What does the UN think they should be the only ones making laws on such issues and the rest of the world should have to obey them.
