First they underscore Deus Ex, then System Shock 2 (2 of my favorite games of all time), and now Bioshock, a game (judging from the demo) that's near certain to be another favorite game of mine. *sigh* Guess this rules out Bioshock winning GOTY here.

[QUOTE="JohanJuurkenoph"]Lately, with each new crysis preview I've been finding myself less and less hyped for this game. From the various impressions given, Crysis looks like it will have amazing graphics and next gen tech, but less than stellar gameplay. It'll probably be a fun game but nothing ground breaking in terms of gameplay. I'm glad I held out on upgrading my PC this year. That could have been a potential grand down the drain.baddog121390

Yet FarCry had amazing gameplay that is still some of the best in the FPS genre. No preview has said that Crysis has downgraded FarCry gameplay. A next-gen FarCry is nothing bad at all, in fact look at Halo 3.

That said, Crysis is much, much more than FarCry so we have the right to hype it as a GOTY candidate.

Hey don't get me wrong. I'd love to be hyped for this game. I was as hyped as any other hermit for this game, maybe even more so. But I guess that last preview where one writer described the gameplay as boring really dulled much of the hype I had for the game. Hopefully, I'm proven wrong andus PC Gamersget another great game this year, but from the looks of it... well, let'sjust say it's hard for me to get hyped for this game anymore. I don't know, maybe I'm just so hyped for Bioshock right nowthat it's hard for me to get hyped about any other game. Maybe after my Bioshock hype dies down I'll get hyped for Crysis again.

Every game previews are glowing. Doesn't mean a game will get a great review. Just look at the absolutely positive preview EGM gave Lair.

Lair isn't getting poor reviews because of poor controls. It's getting poor reviews because it's a poor game overall. There was a 1up podcast from a week back that rips the game for being an unimaginative rogue squadron dragon mod. Funnily enough, the person doing the ripping actually likes the controls. Cows shouldjust give up on this game.

Those screens sort of give off that old 3D pre-rendered adventure game vibe (e.g. games like Zork:Nemesis and the Myst series), except it's all in real-time. That's not a bad thing, BTW. I used to love those type of games (said in the past tense since they don't make those types of games anymore). I seriously can't wait for this game anymore.

1.0 to 10.0, somewhere within that range.

This game comes from the same people who brought you the floptastic Kung-Fu Chaos. Why oh why did cows hype this game so much? I hope this gets the cows to shut up about Killzone 2. Just look at the pedigree folks. It's a good predictor as HS recently proves. But somehow, I don't think the cows will learn their lesson from this.

Killzone 2 didn't even get runner-up status for best graphics. I hope this quiets down the cows a bit. Surprised COD4 beat out Crysis for best graphics though. Oh well, I'll be playing both on my new PC anyway.

Microsoft will not abandon the XBOX. The future of the company depends on it, as the future of software (read Windows) lies in the living room. The XBOX is a long term strategy for Microsoft. It's not just about games.
