Dane Cook

I don't know what's up with the title, I'm listening to him right now and he's really funny, all my blogs are the same and they don't really need a title, just a date but I already know someone who does that and don't want to steal that. Onto news, I got a raise at my job.Thumbs way up,I took the weekend off and had a Game-A-Thon (below) and had a blast. It's getting closer totheend of the Fall semster and the homework is piling up. Afterwards though I'll have a month off and have plenty of time to play my video games.

I've been playing Halo 3 and Bionicle Heroes on the 360. Getting closer to finishing BH, I have 720/1000 GS. I'm actually playing the Wii a lot more lately. I'm playing Sonic And The Secret Rings which is a decent game. I will get a new Wii game soon. I was back into Final Fantasy XII for a week but I've fallen back out of it. I'm playing Wipeout Pure on the PSP and Picross DS on the DS. I still haven't played Tomb Raider: Legend yet and bought the Splinter Cell: Double Agent collector's edition for the 360 and need to finish BH so I can have time to devote to them.

Game-A-Thon has come and went yet again. This one was a doozy, we played fortwelve hours straight from Saturday afternoon to five in the morning and then two to four more hours on Sunday morning. It was me and my two friends Jeff (Sony_Fanboy) and Clint (BiXBYSeNoIR08). We started out playing Unreal Tournament on the DC and quickly realized we wanted to play Halo 3 and that's what we played for all but two hours in which we played the Wii.

I will try and do a blog tomorrow about the new Wii channel, Check Mii Out. It is one of the coolest features on the Wii yet and it shows Nintendo is finally starting to push the online functionality and I will break it down. If not Thursday, then Friday because I have no school! I'd like to do a review, I've began to just rate all the games I'm playing and like doing it, it's just a review's is so time consuming. Well goodnight and goodluck.

You're The Sin Of The City, Now Repent For What You've Done Wrong

Well I bought my first game off of the Virtual Console. Sin And Punishment takes the honor. I bought it because recently I saw that Nintendo began to put import games on the VC and saw this would be one. I read something about it in a very old issue of Nintendo Power and always wanted to try it out. So far, 30 minutes, so good. I actually love it. It's made by Treasure, for the uninitiated is the "God" of the classic shooter/shmup. It's very easy, probably the best looking N64 games, one of the last and from what I hear short. This purchase might spark me buying more, but the only reason I bought it was because it never came out here and I collect video games, so I'd rather have the actual copy, aka I'm not going to buy a Mario or Zelda game because I already have nearly every one.

I'm delaying my PSP blog, again. I like it, I like my DS. Overall I think I still like the DS more, more unique games instead of just, dumbed-down console games IMO. There are some grood games to be sure, I like Lumines II, Metal Gear Acid 2, Wipeout Pure, Star Wars Battlefront Renegade Squadron, and The Warriors. I'll probably get a console version of The Warriors to play the "best" version, and my problem with Wipeout, and most PSP games so far, is the analog stick isn't that good for playing the games. It's in an awkward position that'll give your hand cramps if you play for too long, and IMO the d-pad controls better in Wipeout. Actually that's alot of what I was going to talk so I might not do it but who knows.

Gravemakers And Gunslingers

Well Coheed And Cambria's final part of their CD/Epic/Story is out. For those who don't know it's a four part story within five albums telling the end of the universe. I went and got it Tuesday morning, got the deluxe edition. It's a lot more rock then the past albums, it sounds more metal/classic rock. I like most of it which is how I was towards the last album and it's my fave now, so who knows about this one. This is going to only appeal to two or three people on here so the others can ignore if they want but if they read this sentence that means they already read it. :D

No World For Tomorrow

I got a PSP last week and will do a full blog on that next time. I have a handful of games already and like it. I still play my DS nearly everyday, thanks to Picross DS. I got two new 360 games, Tomb Raider: Legend and Bionicle Heroes. Both were on clearence at Target, I've got about half of the achievements in Bionicle Heroes already and haven't started TM:L yet. I'm playing Halo 3 nealy everyday for at least a few hours.

Work's been great, I've been getting good hours and have a set scheldule but still am open to another job. School is the same old same old. I now have a crap load of homework and it's driving me crazy. I think after this semester I'll take one off and just work and try to take a break and then hit it hard but by that time it would be the summer and I don't want to take summer cla.sses so I'll probably go the spring semester and take off summer.

My next blog should be great, just giving you guys a short update 'til then.

Big News

What's with all this big news lately? I mean just the other day EA bought BioWare and Pandemic whichmeans no more exclusive Mass Effect for Microsoft. Actually MS, EA, and BioWare are in talks currently so I'm guessing MS is going to work out a deal to keep the franchise a Xbox exclusive because it would be a huge loss, especially after Bizarre Creations (Project Gotham Racing)was bought by Activision and Bungie recieved their independence so no more Halo (at least until Bungie decides they want to make more). Nintendo delayed Super Smash Bros. Brawl from Dec. 3 to Feb. 10 here in the States, it's not that big of a delay but one less reason for me to play my Wii, until I get around to buying Super Paper Mario, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, and Super Mario Galaxy that is. On the good side of this, Ninty announced that Sonic is a playable character. Just think fifteen years ago could you imagine Sonic and Mario in more than one game together? It would be like playing a game with Mario, Master Chief, and Ratchet in it. There's more news of course but this blog is a few days late and I'm forgotten some of the other stuff.

I've been on a Halo pretty much every second of my free time and it's showing. I'm blazing through the ranks and have gotten really good, I've actually been getting compliments, at first I thought they were being sarcastic, because all people ever do is trash talk online, but they were serious. Also on the 360 this week was Yaris, the first free advergame, and it shows. It is really terrible but hey it's basically free achievement points. I've also been playing my DS a lot and am gettting into casual games on it. I love Picross DS and it is one of the best deals on the DS. Brain Age I've been playing less, and I bought The New York Times Crosswords, which was another steal.

I'm still working like crazy and am looking for a better job that'll give me less hours. I'm thinking about applying at a local GameXChange. My school is getting tougher, I just finished a first draft for a four page essay over Sexual Education, yeah I know, fun.

I plan to start doing more blogs, I have an hour of free time after my first class and I can go to the library and get on the computer, which is were I'm at now. Well I've got to get going my next class starts in about ten minutes. See you soon.

Are You Experienced?

Well I along with a helleva lot of other people got Halo 3 and I love it. I went to the midnight launch with a friend and there were 60-100 people at our local Gamestop and the crowd was great. We got there at 11:00 and people kept showing up until well past midnight. We played Co-op for the first two levels, then played some multiplayer. It's about 4:00 now and we decided to go to Wal-Mart, to see who's there at four in the morning and to get something to eat. The only people there were employees stocking and we didn't get anything to eat. We got back at 5:00 and played more Co-op and then went to bed. We woke up at 3:00 in the afternoon and played until 9:30 and I took him home.

Overall I love the game. The story I'm not too into, Forge, I haven't really messed around with yet, I like making videos, pics, and looking for other people's but not many people have anything yet. My favorite part is the multiplayer. IMO Halo 2 and now Halo 3 have the standard for FPS multiplayer. You can customize everything and there are tons of modes which you can customize as well. It also doesn't hurt that I kick a$$. In Halo 2 I'm good every now and then, in Halo 3 I've scored in the bottom half of matches about 5/50 times. Sorry for the gloating but that's another reason why I like it. 8)

I know people have already said this but whenever I get online 95% of my friends are playing Halo 3, and this is reminiscent of when Gears Of War came out only not to this extent. I'll try to do another blog tomorrow that's about what else I've done besides Halo 3, but I thought I'd share my opinions and experiences of Halo 3 so far, btw check out my videos and pics if you have Halo 3, they're funny. :D

2600x The Fun!

I've done a lot since my last blog, mostly just same old same old. I've done the school thing, have it tomorrow, done the wrok thing, also have it tomorrow, anddone the new game thing.

I bought TMNT and Table Tennis for the 360. I already beat and got all of the achievements in TMNT so its been shelved. I hated TT at first but it has really grown on me. It's very fun but also very hard. I also bought Metroid Prime Pinball for the DS but haven't played it too much and lastly bought Silpheed for the Sega CD. I really need to get a Sega CD now, I see them every now and then but I want one complete in the box.

Speaking of complete in the box I bought a new game system. Not really new per se but to me it is. I bought an Atari 2600 with the box. I've been wanting to get a new console for a while now as I've been working like crazy and not spending too much money. I already had about a dozen games for it so there was some incentive as well. Here's a picture of the box.

The box that my Atari 2600 came in

It's not very fun in my opinion because it's just so darn archaic. Plus I don't have a very good selection of games. My favorites so far are Dragster, which is extremely fun, Maze Craze, and Combat. The most exciting thing about it was it worked the first time! I mean my Intellivision sorta works and it always takes a good five minutes to get an NES game working so this suprised me.

I also bought and have finished watching the 3rd season of The Office. It is still my favorite show on television. I love all the characters and this season they really had good chemistry and introduced some new characters that brought out the best and worst of the originals.

XBLA Labor Day Sale

Don't forget owners of the 360. From Saturday until Monday Dig Dug, Gauntlet, Small Arms, and Zuma are all half priced! I bought all of them. So far I have all but one achievement in Dig Dug and I don't really like it. Gauntlet isn't much fun either. Small Arms looks great but is a complicated Super Smash Bros. rip-off, and Zuma actually turned out to be my favorite. I actually wasn't even planning on buying it but I thought what the heck, it's cheap and only on a sale for a few days. My sister is even more into it than I am. The only games she's ever been into were Hexic, Far Cry Instincts Predator and the Legend Of Zelda series, but of course she always plays mulitplayer games with me and my friends.

Me and a friend have two bets going on. The first for $25 is that he thinks the 360 won't break 13 mil by the end of the year and I think it will, currently at 11.5mil. The other is for $60 and he thinks the PS3 will be over 8 mil by the end of the year, currently at 4.2 miland I think it will be less. We used to bet all the time in school and this is bringing back our old ways (we last bet like 6 months ago btw).

Not much else to "report" on. I don't know if I mentioned I beat Prey for a second time and now have all the achievements in it, it's my most proud complete game, mainly because it has the laggiest mulitplayer ever hands down. I'm playing Lego Star Wars II again, working on Phantasy StarUniverse, and might go back to Civil War.

Work sucks. I worked a 3-11 on Friday, 11-7 on Saturday, 11-7 on Sunday, and another 11-7 on Monday (LABOR DAY!). Then I finally have a day off on Tuesday, oh well I'll love my paycheck. I have a small English assignment just post a topic in a class forum regarding an essay, and after that more math homework.

Are You Superbad? (Edit, Photos Added)

As you can probably tell from the blog title, if not there's something wrong, I went and saw Superbad. It is the funniest movie I've ever seen, I loved it so much I'm going to go see it again in theaters, maybe later in the week. Yeah I even bought a Superbad t-shirt at Hot Topic and have a few photos to accompany it,I added the photos to my images file.Love it. Going to buy it on DVD. Going to make sweet love to it.

In gaming news I just beat Bioshock less than an hour ago and the game is great. According to Gamerankings it is the 4th best game ever. All I have left are 6 achievements which wont be too bad, just have to beat it a second time on hard. That's all I've been playing so now I kinda feel free, like I just got out of jail after being in for 26 years and was innocent. I don't know what I'll play next.

I added my Wii friend code to my profile so all my Wii friends send me yours. Also this is the last month to get any achievements in the EA Sports 06 games. I know that most probably don't care but really this is a feable attempt for me to find someone to play NBA Live 06 with. For you see I only have one achievement left and that is beat an online opponent. Well as my luck has it every person I play either beats me or I beat them and in the 4th quarter they leave and it really pisses me off because it has happened around five times. I've not very eager about playing the game because frankly it's not good, but I only got one achievement left.

College is easy so far, a whole lot of reading and homework, but none of it's that hard, yet. I went out and bought a graphing calculator and said goodbye to my moneys. Seriously, $125 for a calculator bites. I would've gotten a cheaper one but this was the only one they had and I didn't want to shop around, btw it's a TI-84+ Silver Edition.

Bioshock Is Mine, All Mine!

Just writing to say I bought Bioshock, I'm about to hours in and it's amazing. Didn't buy the Limited Edition because everyone was sold out of it, also it's a Gamestop, EB Games exclusive. I'll write more tomorrow or Thursday, my week is very crammed and I have almost no free time. Mainly 'cause of school and long hours at work.

Done With Eragon, Unstuck In SOTN, And Two Free XBLA Games For 360 Owners

I am finally done with Eragon. I beat it twice in three days and got all the achievements. The game really ramped up in difficulty towards the end. It took me forever to beat the final boss on hard mode and after that I had to go back on normal. The secret eggs aren't all that hard to find either, granted I had to use a guide on three or four, but that's out of eighteen total. I'm so glad I'm done with it. I want to write a review but don't want to do a lenghty one so I might try out do a short review of just pros and cons, yeah I know lazy, but I want to get my voice about it out there but don't wanna work on it for a week.

I've been trying to get unstuck in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night since April and I finally did it. I always tryed GameFaqs but I never really "understood" the guides but I found one that helped and paired it with a map of the castle. The game is great but just at the one part I was stuck at nearly impossible without a guide. I swear you just had to do a random spell in a room without any prior notice. Other than that great game. Definitly worth $10.

My car's transmission crapped out on Thursday while taking my sister home from school. I stopped near a astop sign and waited for my dad to get there and the funniest thing happened. This guy from my work was driving home and just looked over at me with a really stright face as did I but then I just did this gay little wave. He came over and we talked, it was hilarious. So now I'm driving my El Camino 24/7, might mean getting a new car sooner than I thought.

Thursday was also the day of my college orientation, it was at a waterpark and I went down this waterslide a couple of times, swam, and talked to some people from my high school. I bought some Game Fuel after work and it tastes great but takes some getting used to. I bought two and am going to save one.

Also to all my Xbox 360 owning friends, if you go to this link and fill out the fields, Microsoft will give you two free XBLA games. The only catch is you had to have bought a 360 and registered a XBL account after August 8, 2006 and before September 15, 2007. The campaign code is XBX 0807. I got this from Joystiq which is my second favorite games website, behind GS of course.
