I think you just have to catch one in the wild and tie it to a hitching post.

The developer doesn't have a good record so this game will probably be terrible. It's a shame because I love First Blood. Just because I love the film I'll keep this game on my radar.

The only Capcom title I'm really interested in these days is Street Fighter and all the dlc and updates is nothing new. So far I have no complaints. I wouldn't consider myself as forgiving. I've been willing to buy SFIV, then the SSFIV disc then the Arcade Edition dlc because it's a quality product that I still enjoy playing. I definitely wouldn't extend that praise to the rest of Capcom's stable though. At the end of the day developers/publishers don't do bad things to us. They produce a product that we either want to buy or we don't.

So now it's really just about the games. I'm still going with the PS4 because in the long run I think it'll have more interesting exclusives. All these third party exclusives on the XBox One aren't indicative of what we can expect from MS in the future. With the XBox 360, exclusives I was interested in dried up after a year or so. I'll be honest though if Remedy were doing Alan Wake 2 instead of Quantum Break I'd be going with the XBox One.

Off the top of my head I'd suggest trying: Bioshock Bioshock Infinite Crysis series F.E.A.R series Call Of Juarez - Bound In Blood Obviously Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite are must buys. The Crysis games, if you haven't played them, may surprise you with how nicely crafted the single player experiences are. They're not just phoned in. There's plenty of effort went into them. The FEAR games and Bound In Blood offer a different experience from typical FPS' and their both well made. I haven't played FEAR 3 but I played 2 and thought it was a good horror/action game with some good scares. I'd steer clear of Call Of Duty. It's gameplay is very old fashioned and to be honest minimum effort goes into them. In fairness though they are reasonable good fun online until dlc comes out then it's time to bail. Battlefield is a bit more ambitious it seems though I haven't given it a try.

[QUOTE="JohnTheGrudge"]You can't surely think preventing game rental and preventing people from lending games to friends is a positive step forward?jeffmonster

I see reading comprehension isn't exactly your strong suit. He made many great points that you obviously failed to grasp. Ugh.

I grasped his points just fine. I just don't share his enthusiasm for the XBox One. Nor do I agree that these policies will lead to cheaper games. I'd say it's questionable to trace offers on games available in services such as Steam to the implementation of DRM. Steam is a shop and shops have offers on less popular goods, just like shops do with console games today. Tool.

Does this mean you can lend games to 10 different people and they can have that game for free?

HawkeyeGuy
Sort of. It hasn't been properly clarified by MS how it'll work. I know that only one of the ten will be able to play a particular game at a time. It's not clear if they need to get permission from you to access a game or if it's just a case of first come first serve. I tried researching it but it genuinely seems like MS hasn't explained the details yet. Their website is vague and any interview on the subject is brief and uninformative.

As far as I understand it the XBox One will place the following restrictions on how you use games: -With regards to used games it appears that it's up to the publisher if they allow you to trade-in/sell a particular game to participating retailers. This is from the official XBox site: "Trade-in and resell your disc-based games: Today, some gamers choose to sell their old disc-based games back for cash and credit. We designed Xbox One so game publishers can enable you to trade in your games at participating retailers. Microsoft does not charge a platform fee to retailers, publishers, or consumers for enabling transfer of these games." -You can gift your game to somebody else but they must have been on your friends list for at least 30 days. Once it's registered to their profile the game can never be used with another profile again. Games can only be gifted once. This means that you can't lend a game to somebody in the traditional sense. -You can't rent games at all. -The actual discs are really just for show. You can choose to purchase a disc from a shop or download the game from release day. After the game is installed the disc isn't used' -You can play a game on another XBox One but you'll have to load up your profile beforehand and install the game from the cloud. A profile can only be active on one machine at a time. -There's a family sharing feature. This allows you to select up to ten people who will have access to you entire game library. Though only one of the ten people can play a particular game from your library at a time. You will always be able to play it. This effectively means that you can lend games to those people. These can be ten people on different machines. They need to download the game from the cloud. They don't need the disc. Microsoft didn't really do a good job of explaining any of this so I could be wrong but I did a little research for each of these points.

I haven't played The Last Of Us because I don't have a PS3 but I was playing the rather good XBLA game Deadlight and it struck me how much it reminded me of TLOU. Have any of you guys played it and what do you think? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5xK8Z6zSPE

It concerns me slightly that some may order an XBox One without fully understanding it's restrictions. I think the fact that you won't be able to rent games for it or lend them to a friend will be major issues for most people. Regardless of my principles, these restrictions mean that the XBox One is simply of no use to me and I suspect that might be the case for a large number of gamers.
