In real life, i prefer a manual transmission because it is more fun to have something to do with my right hand, and you can't help but fall in love with letting the engine wind out and the sound of gears whining completely under your control, then pop it down a gear and slowly let out the clutch when coming up on a turn to slow down, leaving you in the perfect gear on the exit. you dont know what you're missing till you push one through a winding road. In video games manuals are more challenging and usually have better speed and acceleration once you master it...

So true, whenever i find one of these guys i just think to myself, "Somewhere, some poor little village is missing an idiot...", then let it go and move on.

many games were patched by microsoft, but the ones that werent patched have two choices, one is let the game die, two is send out their own patch for their own game to make it work on the 360... so you really do need to connect it to live when you put them in...

oh and megavideogamer is right about the cd drive, i bought mine microsoft refurbed and it was remanufactured in late 2004, they had put the new cd drive in it and ive never had problems, my box has at least 4000 hours of run time in my house, cause i left it running 24/7 when i was addicted to fable:the lost chapters. as it so happens i was the last one of my friends to get an xbox and mine has lasted at least 3-4 times longer problem free than any of my friends xbox's. you can tell the differences in the drives when they read discs, the older ones are a lot louder, they sound like theyre struggling to read the discs, the new ones are almost silent.

something not many people know about is that if you go to the xbox dashboard you can force 720p resolution. most people are under the false assumption that 480p is the max resolution, but in order to utilize the higher resolution you need component cables otherwise it will frame up in high action sequences. i say both from experience, so you cant say it aint so.

im the only one of my many friends who got a refurb xbox, im also the only one who has never had a problem with his xbox despite having put over 10000 runtime hours on it (left it running 24/7 for near a year plus average halo tourney gamer play for the last 6 years)... i bought mine at gamestop.
