Yes. I own a number of music from the genre.

One doesn't even know the meaning of bad movie until they've seen "Manos: The Hands of Fate". I can thank Mystery Science Theater 3000 for that one. You couldn't even make jokes about the damn thing during the second half, dear god.
80's music is kind of a mixed bag for me. I can't stand the decades pop music or hair bands, however I feel it was the best decade for the likes of punk and alternative. Plus there was great metal from the era as well.
I have A LOT of favorites that I don't feel like listing, but if I were to choose one to acknowledge, it would be Mike Watt from The Minutemen.
Around the 6 minute mark for me. Probably because I listen to alot of punk and whatnot where the songs are maybe about 1 and a half minutes on average. Not to say I don't have my fair share of 10-20 minute long songs in my collection, however.
Not familiar with much math rock/metal outside of the Dillinger Escape Plan. I enjoy them quite a bit but they aren't accesible in the least.
For post rock I suggest you Godspeed You! Black Emperor to start.
Free Jazz, Industrial (Like Throbbing Gristle, not NIN.), Avant-Garde and Experimental, Alot of the more extreme subgenres of Metal and Punk.
I generally greatly enjoy alot of that kind of stuff aside from bands like Throbbing Gristle and whatnot. They're just too experimental for my tastes.
