Well I always like when people in the gaming industry show a bit of common sense again and I totally agree with him that there is a lack of creativity (just look at how many FPS games there are with just pretty graphics but nothing more to it, like mentioned)But where I don't agree with him is that the market is too strict directed at kids / teens, at least where I live not anymore, it was the case in the 90's but since the millenium it has become more mainstream for any age. Also I don't see that many rpg's being developed, only ones I could name and think of on PS3 are the usual famous ones, Final Fantasy, Star Ocean and the like, and except from Star Ocean the rest isn't even exclusive or a port (Dragon Age, Mass Effect). No sign of the good old hidden jewels and gems of the past like Lufia, Grandia and the like, so here it proofs him right again, it's most likely to a lack of creativity.Though I can't fully agree with him, his way of thinking will bring gaming back to the right road, more innovation and creativity and not so much focusing on the graphics (though pretty graphics are a nice bonus of course, but they by far shouldn't be the whole point of a game)
Played Metal gear Solid 1 on release day and after I finished it a few days later I was like meeeh, it's an ok game but doesn't deserve all the hype.I havent's been interested in the MGS Franchise for over ten years, but at the beginning of this year I saw Metal Gear Solid 2 new in a store for 15 € and thought well it was so well received, let's give it a try.And goddammit, it TOTALLY hooked me up in the whole MGS Franchise, got MGS3, MGS4 and Peace Walker too. And when I heard there will be an HD Collection coming out first I thought: Damn, had I know this earlier.....and still bought it.Peace Walker on HD Collection is the best MGS up to date in my opinion :D
The Problem with that kind of Bullc**p is just that the guys who pirate it hack their way around the stupid DRM and play happily, the honest customers get screwed bad. Can't be the future.
Mirrors Edge was a really interesting game, looking forward what the sequel may look like.WARNING: Slight Spoiler for BC2 ending:And about BC3, that would be great and isn't such a great surprise indeed, the end of BC2 said heavily "HEEEELLOOOO SEQUEEEEL"
