Rainbow 6 vegas is good online, so are both of the ghost recon games, crackdown, all the arcade games, table tennis, call of duty 2 & 3, to name a few. your whole post is based on a simple opinion with zero facts, such as, "everyone on xbl are idiots" you talk as if you have played and studied xbl and formed a very valid and intellegent opinion. but it's the exact opposite. try again.Xbox Live users generally are meatheads who believe they use the only good online service out there. The average XBL user will probably openly admit to you he doesn't play anything but his Xbox, but he'll somehow seem to know that the PS3 sucks and that PC online gaming is a league below XBL.
XBL's price isn't really a biggie. 4 bucks a month isn't something to whine too much about.
But do I really need half the stuff it offers? Not really. I don't really feel too compelled to venture into the Marketplace to buy TV shows... I'd rather just play a great game online. The games are really what makes an online service like XBL worth it or not.
I doubt the PS3's online service is too much different from XBL where it really matters. If an awesome online game came out for the PS3 and the 360 (with same graphics, etc), the 360 version might only be slightly better because of having more people with headsets. This would be a big thing, but the voice quality on XBL since the 360 came out sucks. I can clearly remember voice quality being better playing Halo2. There's also the fact that most XBL users are pretty much idiots; not that PS3 online users wouldn't be, but it's definitely true that I very rarely meet somebody who I feel remotely compelled to send a friend request to.
And, as of now, the only really good game for XBL is GeOW. The online portion is really only OK due to it's lack of features, annoying weapons (nobody can say they just looove the Hammer of Dawn), and massive host advantage. I'll openly admit I got the 360 only being sure that Halo3 was going to be awesome. And I'm sure it will be. Just knowing that Halo2 took advantage of XBL far more than any 360 game out yet is assurance that Halo3 will be the next game worth having an Xbox+Live for.

I do agree with you that, many of the people saying XBL is the best online, have never played PC games online, which are leagues more advanced.cobrax25I have played plenty of pc game online. the good ones too, C&C, counter strike, Day of defeat, half life death match, UT, Battlefield. and they are all good, and free. but, "leagues more advanced" is where you are, very, very, hahaha VERY wrong. there is nothing, advanced about the pc online service for games...
[QUOTE="KAS3Y_JAM3Z"]what a tease it really is. MS usually isn't the best at keeping secrets, aside from bungie. but I'm pretty curious what it could be.This seems to keep coming up, so please try and keep all things MS rumor related about exclusives and the like. So try and keep it here. Thanks ! :)
Channel 10, the Microsoft owned and operated blog about all things Microsoft, is teasing its readers with two exclusive midnight unveilings. One hits tonight, the other tommorrow.
Here's what Larry Larsen of Channel 10 has to say about tonight's and tomorrow's first official look at what's flowing from the Microsoft info pipe.
"Two of the coolest Microsoft annoucements since CES are going to be breaking tonight and tomorrow night, and we have exclusive video for both of them. So if you are online at 9:00PM PST tonight (midnight on the east coast) check in to get a full scoop on what your friends will be talking about tomorrow."

It's no great surprise that Microsoft has a new Xbox 360 model in the works, but today they made if official and also announced five new Video Marketplace partners.
The Xbox 360 Elite will come with a 120GB hard drive, an HDMI port, a high-definition cable, both component and composite cables, an audio adapter for use with HDMI and a black finish for the console, wireless controller and Xbox Live headset. It will not have, despite rumors to the contrary, the smaller 65 nanometer chips, built in IPTV support or a built-in HD-DVD drive.
While Microsoft declined to comment on specific launch numbers for the new model, they did say it would not be a limited edition run. The Elite is here to stay, as are the core and standard Xbox 360.
The Elite model will hit in North America on April 29 for $479.99 along with a new stand-alone 120 GB hard drive that will sell for a whopping $179.99. The hard drive will come with a transfer cable and software to move the content stored on a 20 GB hard drive to your new drive.
Microsoft will also begin selling black battery packs and play and charge kits for the same price as their white counter-parts.
While the Elite edition will also be selling around the world, Microsoft did not discuss the date or price for other regions.
