Gives the player tons of choices about how to deal with every situation in the game. I know its been done before (Deus Ex) but since Deus Ex, what other game has done it?

Bioshock is far more innovative than any other FPS coming out this year. It is set in a unique setting and is helping push the genre forwards by combining multiple genres together into an amazing hybrid of FPS, RPG and Action-Adventure elements.

A handful of games have done what Bioshock has "done" before but it has been far too long since we have had a new game with new ideas and new features. Deus Ex was released seven years ago.

hitman is a 3rd person action stealth game... and hitman is fairly linear (although I love the series) and there is tons of ways to beat the missions, bioshock gives you the ability to approach any SITUATION (not mission) in anyway possible.

bioshock is a FPS at it's core, not a 3rd person stealth action game.

You simply just haven't done enough research on the game.
Everything from the gameplay mechanics to the weaving of all the elements to create an experience that is going to raise standards sky high.

well give an example of some gameplay mechanic that will "raise the standards sky high"

name some gameplay mechanics that make MGS4 so amazing? Im a big fan of the MGS series so don't get any bad ideas, im just curious.

Dear God man! One review didn't hit them right in the face and say "delay it! it sucks!" Freaking leaderboards got it delayed. If the game comes out with analog control options then yeah, they flip-flopped. But I suspect it won't!

System shock has taught many of us a lesson. That lesson is if any developer out there knows how to pull of atmosphere, its these guys.

Sorry "war torn alien planet" wasn't what they were aiming for or "insert big city here" wasn't a choice either.

Bioshock seems to e doing everything right. including the ATMOSPHERE.

Why would I care if they cut some music out of it? I usually just listen to my own music on my 360 when Im playing anyways. Sound is usually the largest of the files, they'd cut out a score or two to add a "hd trailer (hahaha)" or another level. If oblivion didn't fill up a DVD9 I don't think any game would come so close to filling up every single available kilabyte that they would HAVE to cut something out of the game to make room.

Bungie really sounds like they're trying to get it right this time around, not that Halo 2 was a bad game, but it had it's flaws and overall did not compare very well next to Halo: CE. So far I am pleased with what I've seen from Halo 3 and trust in Bungie to make sure the fight is finished the right way. ;)

agreed. they are doing everything they can to make halo 3 amazing. i mean it's the last game in the series, so they are going all out.

How do you guys feel that Bungie managed to get online co-op into the game right out of the box? Relieved? Happy? Celebrating? and how do you feel that it will be MC, the arbiter, and 2 new elites with their own back stories?

For the people who were angry that they wouldn't get online co op (not but a few weeks ago) are you relieved now, and are you satisfied with it?

I believe bungie has met their fans expectations and then some.

Halo 3 looks like it will be the full package, is there anything Bungie has missed? or failed to include?

I can't really think of any gripes about it, really. No game is perfect though.

thanks for the great argument. But that is the future. It's already in motion and most people know about. The limiting factor is how soon and how to boost bandwidth to accommodate it. But it's the future.

But for PC Games, downloads account for nearly 40% of the sales.

Thats because consoles don't have it available as a sales option. I guarantee that if it was available the consoles would have 40% or more of their sales through downloads.

Of course the console would need to be reworked but if they had planned for it, it would have worked.
