i hope you are smart enough to know that when a company is making a profit on what they are selling, and the demand for it continues on a steady pace (most wanted list for famitsu has 9 ps3 titles) then you can consider your business venture a success at least until demand and software start to slip.

Get real man, they obviously had to say something or else they would even loose there on fans. Its obvious this is just a cover-up.. notice he doesn't even mention if the dev was lieing or what not... what we heard had no spin to it, the dev stated it how it is, he couldn't have been more clear when he said "we dont have enough space" (something along those lines)

You're right, when a dev says something we should take it with a grain a salt. For example the next time someone says "only possible with the Cell or Blu-Ray" we should assume its BS.

"We can confirm that prototypes of the new rumble-enabled controllers have made their way to various Sony developers. Information on these controllers is still closely held by Sony and their partners, but an official announcement and unveiling is expected in the next two to three months. Leipzig is the most obvious guess for this unveiling, but we believe Sony is going to withhold the controllers until they can launch them to coincide with support from enough developers.

We can also confirm that new versions of the Sixaxis controller are quietly replacing the original controllers launched with the console. Hardware updates occur regularly throughout the lifespan of controllers; in this case, Sony has improved the fidelity of motion sensing in the controller. if they are profitable then yes, they are selling well. In terms of marketshare, the psp holds a 30% percent of the ever expanding handheld market. For its first go at a handheld..

The thing is that Sony didn't meet it's sales goals that it aimed for. It didn't even meet it's shipping goals when it first launched.

This sounds like another justification, another "ah, it's all going according to plan" idea.

i underlined the main point of the article which is like a sentence... but yeah, the point is that sony cant really lower the price of the ps3 too much because it will hurt sales of ps2 which is a major cash cow for Sony. Remember when Kutaragi said something along the lines that they didnt want to sell too much ps3's? well, it kinda makes sense now.
