[QUOTE="Tungsten88"]I read it. The article was pretty n00bish but that's to be expected. It shows that the people writing Time feel that Halo has entered or is on the verge of entering the mainstream. DaysAirlines
If Halo isn't a mainstream game I don't know what is.

im sure you have heard of The Sims... halo really isn't mainstream, it's just the hardcore gamers have such a strong voice in the gaming community that it seems like EVERY gamer is playing Halo... btw, i never played halo... evr.

[QUOTE="-Renegade"][QUOTE="Clock_Ticking"][QUOTE="-Renegade"][QUOTE="JiveT"]

Let me get this straight....first off they DID give out two names of people supposedly involved in that interview "Charles Kieg-programmer" and "Mike Nab-designer" now they are saying the authors names were not given at the request of the author's themselves?Or are they talking about the person they got to do the interview? Odd any way you slice it.

Then they say Valve requested the article be pulled for "various unrelated reasons". Why not state them?

The 360 and PS3 versions are being handled by two separate design teams. The PS3 version is being done by an EA studio in the UK. They seemed to have talked to two people who somehow knew all about both versions. :?

Here's a link to Valve's website with its people. Suprisingly enough those names don't appear on it. :shock:

http://www.valvesoftware.com/people.html

Maybe its complexer than any of us can imagine.

Clock_Ticking

We took the interview down by request of Gabe, CEO of Valve. Part of the agreement to publish the interview was that our staff would not publish it on N4g.com.

Well soon after the interview went live on PSU, the interview showed up on N4g.com. Then Valve was upset with us cause we broke our agreement and they asked that we pull the whole thing down. Even on N4g.com.

We will do another interview soon with Valve cause they want to apologize for what happened. We have not reposted the interview because it was deleted when we took it down.

Update: There was no reason for us to fake an interview with Valve. Look at our long list of interviews and you can see we have no problem conducting them with studios:

man you should stop listenning to that site, it makes you look bad

well we will know for sure when the new interview is posted. :D

it's already proven that they made up the names of the interviewed ppl, and valve told them to erase the article because it was fake. sad cows on damage control :lol:

you post like your in third grade picking on someone... PSU actually says it outright that Valve told them to take down the article .. dont you think Valve would come out and say we had nothing to do with psu in any way, shape, or form?

Hahaha, they're obviously BS'ing so they don't dump what little credibility they have down the toilet. Yes, Valve gave you an interview, then asked you to pull it. I feel bad if you believe this.BioShockOwnz

geez.. to think i actually respected your opinion at one time, bioshockownz.. now its really down to dreamvision and a few others... was system wars always this sparse of smart and intelligent people?

[QUOTE="h575309"][QUOTE="Magical_Zebra"]

[QUOTE="h575309"]what did 360 do in 9 months since launch?Magical_Zebra

What did it do? The 360 had more AAA exclusives and AA titles in 9 months of its life then the PS3. :shock:

Care to name them?... i bought a 360 at launch... so i would know PDZ, Oblivion and GRAW were those AAA titles... and like i said PS3 had Oblivion, RB6 V, NGS and Resistance (which is better ...no scratch that... ALOT better...than PDZ IMO) and even if 360 has the slight edge there since they are all IPOs ... they have similar first 9 months

Dont ever try me. I to still have my launch 360.

360 games the first 9 months:

GRAW 9.2

Perfect Dark 0 9.0

Call of Duty 2 8.8

Kameo 8.7

PGR3 8.8

MotoGp 06 8.2

Dead Or Alive 4 8.8

Dead Rising 8.4

Condemned Criminal Origins 8.0

Oblivion 9.6

2006 Fifa World Cup 8.2

Fight Night Round 3 8.3

Hitman Blood Money 8.2

Lord Of The Rings II: The Battle For Middle Earth 8.3

King Kong 8.2

Ridge Racer 6 8.1

Rockstar Game Presents: Table Tennis 8.5

Saints Row 8.3

Thats 18 games sir. 3 AAA and 15 AA titles. Your turn with the first 9 months of the PS3. Good luck, no really... :lol:

nice list of multiplats. lol cant believe your bragging bout its first 9 or so months. it HAD NO COMPETITION, genius. ANY game released on the 360 before teh launch of the ps3 is considered EXCLUSIVE by DEFAULT. wow the way you guys think. im pretty sure you didnt even have time to play these games since you were probably sending in your 360 for repair every week or so.

Btw, Haze, Unreal3, littebigplanet (public beta), home (app), Graw 2, RV6, Oblivion, NGS, Resistence, motorstorm, Warhawk, lair, stranglehold, heavenly sword, uncharted, socom confrontation, assassin's creed, gt: prologue, merceneries 2, wipeout, and a whole bunch of more multiplats and exclusives will be hitting the ps3 in its First Gen. now... compare that to the 360 which had no competition what so ever.. and you will see where im going with this.

[QUOTE="kiko1"]the wii and the 360 will be the top 2 systems this geneartion there is no denying it. The ps3 is finished and rumor or not i will gaurantee you this we will get mgs4 and it will be the nail in the coffin to the death of ps3. remember were theres smoke theres fire and money makes the world go round and every man has a price.Magical_Zebra

please tell me this thread is a joke.... the ps3 hasnt even been out a year yet and everyone has a crystal ball and says its done... you guys obviously know nothing about business...last year at this time 360 had squat but oblivion and GRAW ....

You also sound like one of the folks that would say the PS3 has not even been out a year and its going to repeat the success of its little brother. See the irony? :shock:

no im saying you cant say the system is done, kaput, finished when its been out for 9 friggin months...its ridiculous.... its heavy hitters arent even out yet... its like calling a fight in the 2nd round... you dont know what will happen down the road... its a FACT that sony has announced some major titles for 2008... and whether they flop or not will show where the ps3 is headed

Dude, some of these heavy hitters wont be out till 08-09. You think the 360 is just gonna roll over and die? :|

P.S. I never said the PS3 was finished, just that it aint doing jack **** since its launch.

where have you been? its been happening for the past 2 years.

[QUOTE="fixer293"]Dude, what do you want them to do send you a cookie instead?fixer293

or maybe a console that works?

ok, I claim BS on this thread.

umm, probably because the ps3 doesn't need one (hint hint less then 1% failure rate)?

i hope you are smart enough to know that when a company is making a profit on what they are selling, and the demand for it continues on a steady pace (most wanted list for famitsu has 9 ps3 titles) then you can consider your business venture a success at least until demand and software start to slip.

linarite

Ah, so the GC was incredibly successful, then.

whats so hard to comprehend? if the gamecube made profit on its console, and sold relatively well globally which it did (21mil) and offered variety exclusive of AAA software (smash brothers topping 14mil in sales) then its a success. I think your just having trouble comprehending simple and logical facts.

[QUOTE="Eponique"][QUOTE="haze_blaze"][QUOTE="ShaneBeck"][QUOTE="legalize3"]

the only thing ps3 needs is final fantasy

and the ps3 sales will jump to 11 mil

GundamGuy0

11 million wouldn't be very good considering FFXIII won't be here until about 2009.

That's true. But MGS4 is likely to push it to the 11-12M range by itself. Coupled with another price drop in 2008 and the PS3 will finally be on its way to doing PS2 numbers.

MGS isn't a system seller in Japan. It sells well, but don't expect HSG-like sales.

HSG?

MGS isn't a system seller anywhere... The fanchise the whole franchise is under 10 million sold last i checked.

im pretty sure MGS franchise is one of the most successful out there. Think of all the side line mgs games Portable Ops? those acid games.. all of em make money and sell well. plus MGS2 alone has sold more then 10mil globally.
