Wow. Deathloop and Ghostwire were on my EGS wishlist. Snagged Ghostwire from Amazon when it dropped recently and now here comes Deathloop! Sweet. Kena and Tunic are also on there. I’d say there’s a good chance both will be giveaways within the next year :D

That’s kind of neat. I do enjoy the campaign of these games but I’d never pay full price and they are hardly discounted. Can’t see myself playing these any more unless they come free with something (eg, I got Cold War with a 3080 back in 2020).

@Xylymphydyte:

Not likely. This game was published by epic—just like Alan Wake remastered. It’s been over two years since that came out and still no steam release.

@Slash_out:

There are many games exclusive to steam. Whether or not steam paid for exclusivity is anyone’s guess though I suspect it’s steam’s dominance that leads to the exclusivity. How egs gets its exclusive games is irrevelant to me as an end user. If they are paying for it I only appreciate them trying to compete with other store fronts.

There efforts are far from crossing any line for me and many others so it looks somewhat irrational when some people express such hate for egs. At least you have some valid practical reasons why you prefer steam (none of which I share) but the full on HATE seems excessive.

Also it’s a major stretch to say the egs deals are somehow equivalent to the console wars. When Sony pays for a year exclusivity for a game, if you are an Xbox only owner you either have to wait a year or buy an entirely separate platform to play the game. With pc you simply download a free launcher which also happens to give you free games. With consoles it’s so inarguably worse and yet everyone is mostly fine with it—you don’t have people swearing off buying a PlayStation forever or saying how much they hate Sony for their dealings. All this epic hate seems excessive and borderline cult / zealot like.

I haven’t played all of these titles but FF VII: Remake, Bayonneta 2, Uncharted 4, MGS 4, and Journey do not belong on this list.

@Search_for_Vali: I recently finished Abzu, made by the same talent behind Journey. I thought Abzu was a far better experience. Journey was forgettable to me—I’ll never get the hype.

Already own 2-6. Played the original (rental on the Sega Saturn back in the day) but don't think I ever finished it. Best $3 I've ever spent.

Saw Barbie 2nd weekend myself and found it overrated & lacking direction. It was overall a fun time which is what matters most I guess but it would have benefited from a lot more polish.
