Online it is without a doubt atheists. Most atheists IRL aren't in your face about it are just people who simply do not believe in a higher power. The annoying atheists are annoying because they have some sort of anti-thesis movement going on. My answer: Mormons. Ask anyone else in my family and they will tell you the same thing, and we were all Mormons. Throughout the entire lives of my parents (both born and raised in Mormon faith) they have never received any help from the church. I don't remember my early childhood but my parents told me it was hell; I have 4 siblings and we were all unplanned, our extended families did shit to help, and every time they ask help from the church their only response was "god gives us no more than we can handle'. At one point we got last minute age by a Muslim couple but we have never gotten help from our own church once despite that my parents are constantly doing favors and helping out other members. They still kept going and kept taking making us go (which was really bad for us, we were bullied constantly) up until about 8 years ago my little sister came home from a church event covered in her own tears, she had been in a huge argument with a priest at the church about her problems(I'm just going say she has some social disabilities and leave it at that) and in the end the priest just straight up told her that the reason she has problems is because she is simply just a bad person. My parents, little brother, and little sister are still Christians despite what happened. My other siblings and I are agnostic. Keep in mind this isn't just my local church my father had a travel job and this was the same experience across 9 different states. Forget science and atheism, just take part in a church for a while if you want to know why religion is bullshit. Sorry this rant isn't very organized but thinking back on this makes my blood boil. Something to note is that they don't even read the f**king bible, they hate my little sister because she keeps outsmarting them and proving in front of everyone that certain priest have no idea what they are talking about, to this day she still spends about an hour studying the bible. She's the sweetest, most thoughtful and most sensitive person me and my family know. And this priest, no doubt angry that he just lost an argument over some scripture, just straight up tells her that every problem she has is her own fault and was given to her for being a bad person. My parents, little brother, and little sister are still Christians despite what happened. My other siblings and I are agnostic. Keep in mind this isn't just my local church my father had a travel job and this was the same experience across 9 different states. Amazing how a game with no story is in 2nd place lol

You play games.... for stories?

I'm sorry you don't feel that Story can be an important part of a game.

Don't put words in my mouth you jerk, I just don't feel they should be the goal of a game. If there is a game that has a good story but bad gameplay I watch a playthrough.

You play games.... for stories?

Of course. That's the single most important aspect of a game.

You are this terrible.

TLOU tops really :|? People must have had short term memory. rjdofu
This is why that if I do any sort of "X of the time period" contest, it would be for the previous year/generation instead of the current one.

I just wanted to know how people on this site feel. Occasionally I'd be in a chatroom or a game and the topic of ad blockers would come up. Everyone will go on about how adblockers are great and then there will be a guy that gives a lecture about the dangers of it; that websites are dieing because of it and everything is going to become subscription based because no one can make money anymore. Website owners claim there is nothing they can do and they have no control whatsoever. Which is bullshit because they can certainly choose who they use and what format, and they chose third-parties that used videos instead of something simple like Google text ads.

I use AB+ and I have it on for every site, even ones I like. I have 'allow non-intrusive ads' on. Bits of texts are fine, small static images are fine. But when ads went to having flash animations, sound, auto redirections, and started playing before and in the middle of videos was when they went too far.

Some websites are now detecting and blocking users who have an adblocker, luckily there are scripts that block adblockers. They are whining that their worthless lets plays, animation series, and pseudo-intellect articles cant make them a living anymore and that they shouldnt be punished for the third parties giving us annoying ads.

My response: it is a free market, adblockers are legal, and f**k you.

Oh. My. God. You guys are completely clueless, On-Topic TC, have you already tried any games from Paradox Interactive? If not then you are missing out because they are THE place to go for intellectual games. If you don't like their games then chances are there are no games that will feed your needs. I have 2 games to recommend you. Europa Universalis: A history simulator. There is no winning objective, the entire point of the game is to just maintain a nation of your choice from as long as possible. Easy mode would be just be maintaining an already powerful country, hardmode would be controlling a country in their final hour, and turning them into a world superpower. You could also change how countries were like, you can make the Cherokee the most expansionist and technological advance in the world. Mount & Blade: A lot less of a thinking game but it is still a wonderful and unique strategy game. You play as a newcomer in a land torn apart by several distant faction that mostly resemble medieval Europe. The objective in this game is to join a faction of your choice, raise an, and literally lead them into battle where you control a physical commander on the battlefield actually fighting a with your men as you bark them orders and watch the battle in person. If you are really ambitious you can even declare your own kingdom and claim yourself as the rightful ruler of Calradia. Both of these games have large and dedicated modding communities that have made everything from graphic improvements and gameplay balances to entire overhauls so much content is to be had.
