Ridiculous that we have to make a petition to maybe have the chance of playing a Japanese game.

Sora278

Whatever gets companies to see that there's a big demand for a game.  I'm hoping for DQ7 also.

The best microtransactions--aside from not being there in the first place--are the ones that are unobtrusive.

I've been playing a lot of Path of Exile lately, and I like the dev team's stance on microtransactions, which they tell you up-front and as blunt as possible.  Basically, they have it, but everything is cosmetic.  The full game is available to you whether you threw money their way or not.  You can't purchase gear with real money.  You can only trade with other players in-game.

The reality is that microtransactions are here to stay, because the industry can't sustain itself by offering games for free without any sort of compensation.  But even the games you do pay for will have microtransactions...that does seem pretty bad, but what if they're necessary for the continued survival of the industry?  I read Cliff's blog and he makes some good points, but anyone who really looked at the situation could've came up with the same conclusion: if microtransactions weren't working, they would've disappeared by now.

The only thing we can do, and the only thing we have to do, is not support microtransactions if you don't believe in them.  Endless b*tching solves nothing.

As long as we're making suggestions, I would like users to be able to use those nifty emblems the staff get to use in official reviews.

The 2D fighting games on Saturn are superior to the PS1 versions, but you need a RAM cart.

There's no "greatest FPS" list without mentioning Doom.  Revolutionary in many ways, and still fun to play even today.

I think a poll is unnecessary, because Capcom has made so many games for various platforms.

Street Fighter is obviously one of their best and most-loved franchises.  I hoped that Capcom would've remade SF1 during their SF anniversary.  I think that game deserves a makeover with proper controls, and having the other characters be playable.

Apart from SF, I'm a huge fan of Rival Schools, and I'm still hoping that a new game gets made.  That series has been inactive for over 10 years, but Capcom hasn't forgotten about it completely.

Capcom made some great brawlers too.  Final Fight is the obvious one, but there are other cool games, like Knights of the Round, their D&D games, Aliens vs. Predator, and many more.

What can I say about Mega Man?  It's one of my favourite franchises.  If I wasn't broke, I'd pick up the Archie Comics version of Mega Man because I hear it's really good.  I own the Megamix & Gigamix manga, as well as the art books that Udon released.  I also have a framed drawing of Cut Man from Hitoshi Ariga that I won from a contest he had at a convention.

Breath of Fire...now there's a series that needs to come back.

I wonder what Capcom's gonna do this year if they're going to celebrate their 30th year of existence at all?

I'd say the SNES was lacking in sports games thanks to a lack of EA presence.  All the best sports games went to the Genesis.

I own an unknown game called Battle Hunter.  It's a PS1 budget game by Agetec.  I really enjoyed the game for its concept and the multiplayer.  I think the game's ideas would work in a higher-quality game.

Basically, Battle Hunter involves going into randomly generated dungeons and finding a target item that a client wants.  The dungeons contain various monsters and rival hunters.  When a hunter get the target item, all of the other hunters can go after him/her and take it by force.  Once you have the item, you have to escape the dungeon, so you're never in the clear until you reach the exit.

If you do import it, know that Tales of Eternia has a game-breaking bug that prevents advancement.  Not sure if it's been fixed since then.  The issue only occurred if you played the game on the US PSP.

Speaking of Eternia...I really need to play it again.
