And your radio is def when my record's on!

My radio, believe me, I like it loud
I'm the man with a box that can rock the crowd
Walkin' down the street, to the hardcore beat
While my JVC vibrates the concrete
I'm sorry if you can't understand
But I need a radio inside my hand
Don't mean to offend other citizens
But I kick my volume way past 10
My story is rough, my neighbourhood is tough
But I still sport gold, and I'm out to crush
My name is Cool J, I devastate the show
But I couldn't survive without my radio
Terrorising my neighbours with the heavy bass
I keep the suckas in fear by the look on my face
My radio's bad from the Boulevard
I'm a hip-hop gangster and my name is Todd
Just stimulated by the beat, bust out the rhyme
Get fresh batteries if it won't rewind
Cos I play everyday, even on the subway
I woulda got a summons but I ran away
I'm the leader of the show, keepin' you on the go
But I know I can't live without my radio

Suckas on my jock when I walk down the block
I really don't care if you're jealous or not
Cos I make the songs, you sing along
And your radio's def when my record's on
So get off the wall, become involved
All your radio problems have now been solved
My treacherous beats make ya ears respond
And my radio's loud like a fire alarm
The floor vibrates, the walls cave in
The bass makes my eardrums seem thin
Def sounds in my ride, yes the front and back
You would think it was a party, not a Cadillac
Cos I drive up to the ave, with the windows closed
And my bass is so loud, it could rip your clothes
My stereo's thumpin' like a savage beast
The level on my power meter will not decrease
Suckas get mad, cos the girlies scream
And I'm still gettin' paid while you look at me mean
I'm the leader of the show, keepin' you on the go
But I know I can't live without my radio
I'm the leader of the show, keepin' you on the go
And I know I can't live without my radio

Don't touch that dial, I'll be upset
Might go into a fit and rip off your neck
Cos the radio's thumpin' when I'm down to play
I'm the royal chief rocker LL Cool J
Let your big butt bounce from right to left
Cos it's a actual fact this jam is def
Most definitely created by me
Goin' down in radio history
I'm good to go on your radio
And I'm cold gettin' paid cos Rick said so
Make the woofers wallop and your tweeters twitch
Some jealous knuckleheads might try to dis
But it's nuthin', ya frontin', ya girl I am stuntin'
And my radio's loud enough to keep you gruntin'
My name is Cool J, I'm from the rock
Circulating through your radio non-stop
I'm lookin' at the wires behind the cassette
And now I'm on the right, standing on the eject
Wearin' light blue Pumas, a whole lotta gold
And jams like these keep me in control
I'm the leader of the show, keepin' you on the go
And I know I can't live without my radio

Your energy level starts to increase
As my big beat is slowly released
I'm on the radio and at the jam
LL Cool J is who I am
Imma make ya dance, boogie down and rock
And you'll scratch and shake to my musical plot
And to expand my musical plan
Cut Creator, rock the beat with your hands

That's right, so don't try to front the move
As you become motivated by the funky groove
You can see me and Earl chillin' on the block
With my box cold kickin' with the gangster rock
See people can't stop me, neither can the police
I'm a musical maniac to say the least
For you and your radio I made this for
Cool J's here to devastate once more
Pullin' all the girls, takin' out MCs
If ya try to disrespect me, I just say Please!
Here to command the hip-hop land
Kick it live with a box inside my hand
I'm the leader of the show, keepin' you on the go
But I know I can't live without my radio

Half-Life 2 blows

LMALAMLAM!1 just kidding fools. That game kicks ass. From start to finish it blew my mind. The sheep have been owned.

!!!!!!!!!!!!1111

If gameplay didn't matter, MGS3 would have been a whole lot better.

Don't get me wrong, the gameplay isn't bad -- if it was, I wouldn't have given it a 9.4 -- but in reality, it's not all that amazing. Though there are some fantastic updates within the gameplay, such as the camouflage, curing, and food systems, the core gameplay remains the same as Metal Gear Solid 2, which, to be honest, wasn't all that different from Metal Gear Solid for the Playstation. In 1998, there wasn't a cooler game, it felt tight, it came together perfectly, and that's why I consider the game to be among the best ever made. But now, 6 years later, it's definitely dated.

I have always been a staunch defender of Metal Gear Solid and its sequels. Whether it's Sons of Liberty or The Twin Snakes, I was always one of the ones to back it up and say how it all manages to come together and form a really cohesive gaming experience. This is true, it does, but it comes off more as a movie than anything else. In my opinion, that's fine, but how good is that to those of you who don't want to sit through ten-minute cutscenes? Not too good, really.

The game needs a new camera, bad. I understand that it was necessary for the environments in Snake Eater to be fixed, or it would have been near impossible to navigate around the jungle. Other than that, the gameplay wasn't actually there to forward the game itself, but rather the story. Nevertheless, it did an amazing job at doing that.

If gameplay didn't matter at all, I wouldn't have had too much of a problem calling this possibly the greatest game I have ever played in my life. The story is just flat-out unbelievable. Forget everything you remember about Sons of Liberty and how wacky the plot was, and how you weren't playing as Snake, forget all of that. Pretend this is an entirely new series, or actually, just pretend this is the game Sons of Liberty should have been.

Sons of Liberty was a really good game, but it wasn't a really good Metal Gear Solid game. It was a good game set in the Metal Gear universe. With an awful protagonist trying to push forward a totally bogus plot, it just didn't have the impact the first one did. Hell, it didn't even have the impact that The Twin Snakes had, and that was just a remake. The only thing that saved Sons of Liberty from being a disaster were the absolutely amazing production values. The graphics, the voice acting, and the cinematic cutscenes were something that had been attempted, but never achieved on this level before. It was more epic than any movie I had seen at that time. Of course, just a day or two later The Fellowship of the Ring came out and changed that, but hey, different story!

Snake Eater, on the other hand, is better in every imaginable way. Better cutscenes, you're playing as Snake (or...), and the story is one of the best I've ever experienced in any medium, whether it's movie, book, or game. They wrap it all up, at least everythng you want it to from what happens in the story, and you feel satisfied. Instead of throwing out some crazy plot-twist at the end, they set it up so it can be a sensible sequel, if they decide to make one.

The ending, for example, goes on for about two hours. Between fighting one boss to another, you'll discover a lot out about who you are, what you're doing, and who you're fighting. It makes you sit there and question the very thought of war, enemies, and hatred. It's probably the greatest end to a game I have ever seen before, and I'm not exaggerating.

So, really, it's too bad the gameplay holds this game back from perfection, because it really does. The gameplay is good, really good, it's just not as much of a leap as it should be. Other than that, there is nothing but praise that should be said for this game. If this didn't come out in a year with games that are remarkable on basically all fronts, like Half-Life 2, Halo 2, and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, it would have easily been the crowning achievment. Even though it may not be as spectacular as it could have been, it's probably my favorite game so far this generation.

What's this? I'm enjoying Halo 2's single player!

Despite what seems to be the new bash of the week, I consider Halo 2's single player to be quite impressive. Through the nine to ten levels of the game that I have played so far I definitely consider it on par, if not better, than all of the other first person shooters I've played all year. Though Far Cry is definitely more technically impressive, through it's remarkable graphics engine, the action just isn't, well, as fun as Halo's!

I suppose that's a good thing. There's no reason I should want to not like it, which is what I feel some people seem to be doing. The single player campaign, including the story so far, is really cool. The action is great, the pacing is great, and the weapons are awesome. There's only one major problem so far; the cutscenes!

What the heck is wrong with the textures on the charaters and landscapes in the cutscenes? I swear to god the normal in-game set up looks better than the cutscenes, that almost never happens in any game. The textures pop up like a few miliseconds after they should, and trust me, it's noticeable. It's actually sort of strange, I don't get why it is.

Oh well, no big deal, considering how great the game is otherwise! I don't even need to get started on the multiplayer, which is maybe the best part of the game. Great maps, great setup, great action... that's all it needs and that's what it's got. Great stuff.

I love this game.

Re-bought XBL today.

Today I picked up Halo 2 CE and XBL again. My new tag is KingFrizzyFresh, because apparently KingFrizzy and FrizzyFresh are already in use. I also hold the Frizzy Fresh gamertag, but I don't know the CC # so I just started a new one. Whatevs. Send me friend requests and help me out, I'd love to play with y'all tomorrow, I don't have to work so there's lots of time to play.

Oh ya, and I thikn Halo 2 is pretty sweet so far. I got to play it about 15 mins before work and then another hour at work throughout the day and just another half hour before I posted this. I'm digging it, I don't like how when you shoot your crosshair goes up... that annoys me. But it's no big deal.

Frizzy

Oh no!

Howdy folks, sorry I haven't dropped in lately to post in this. Been a little busy.

I just found out that I'm working from 3:30 to close on Tuesday! That is so awful! I'm going to have a few minutes to pick up Halo 2 and then I'm not going to get to play it until Wednesday. This sucks a lot, I'm really sad.

Work, though, is so much fun. My department is awesome, I'm in Media Sales, so basically I sell video games, music, movies and PC software. The people I work with are so cool and funny, it's really great. Except tomorrow apparently is initiation... which I'm not too excited for. I'll let you guys know just WHAT that entails, but I have a feeling II'm going to be owned.

I sold an Xbox and a Halo 2 preorder to a 9 year old. His Mom was with him, it was really strange that she was encouraging him in buying these mature rated games. But I didn't really care either way, he was pretty cool for a 9 year old.

Anyway, I'm off, I've got to work at 6 AM tomorrow!! AHH!!

The Eagle has landed.

My body, lingering in anticipation as I approach the EB Games doors. I know that today is the day, the day I finally get it. I open the door, walk in. To my surprise, there is no line. I go up to the clerk and say, "I'm here for the 7 O'clock pickup." She reaches behind the desk, takes it out and puts it on the counter. She asks me, "Do you want the guide with that?" , as if it's some sort of burger, but I say, "yes," nonetheless. This, my friends, is when I got my copy of a Bard's Tale.

Just kidding.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, although having a rather short publicly known development cycle, has finally hit store shelves. There was zero information on the game around E3 time, and now it's finally here. How can this be? I'll tell you, because Rockstar Games are one of the greatest developers out there.

No developer truly makes me believe they are out here to make art more than Rockstar does. Games as art is a unique concept, but it's highly feasible these days. When I look at the transition between Grand Theft Auto II to Grand Theft Auto III I see more than just a revolutionary step for videogames. I see a revolutionary step in art itself. It leaves me awestruck at just how amazing that living, breathing world really is. No game has that appeal that Grand Theft Auto does.

Then, Rockstar made an even greater step by adding loads of style to the series with Vice City. If there ever was a game that made me feel like a badass while playing it, it was Vice City. I felt like I was Tommy Vercetti and I was a gangster. It was like playing Scarface, for real. The music, the colors, the cars, the people, the missions, the story, it was so stylish.

Now, San Andreas comes out. I'm not far, only first impressions for now, but it is, from what I can tell, absolutely amazing. To no one's surprise, of course. How could anyone actually doubt that Rockstar wouldn't pull through on this? I couldn't imagine thinking that. But what I really want to say is, though it may not look like it, this seems to be a big step over VC, just as III was over II.

It may seem on the exterior to be the same old thing with a new story and new characters, but that just isn't the case. It has so many new gameplay features that I know about from only a little bit of time playing with it, there's probably a lot more that I'll find out about as the game progresses.

There's really too much to just simply mention in a listing fashion. They have added so much to it that it makes me believe that this is just as big of a step over VC as III was over II. That may sound bold, and a little crazy, but it just isn't readily apparent from the get-go. The step from II to III was basically 2D to 3D, plus some added depth, but San Andreas seems like it's everythng good about most every genre out there rolled in to one exquisitely made game.

It's hard to tell from where I am right now, but I'll tell you something, this is going to be a game to remember. Perhaps it will become one of those games, you know, those games. The ones everyone remembers as the best ever. The ones everyone considers the cream of the crop. You know, those games. Well, hats off to you Rockstar, I'm 'gonna get my roll on.

Everquest II is bomb diggity fresh.

I've never in my life been so privaledged as to play a massively multiplayer game before. They have either been too expensive, not interesting, or too intimidating. MMORPGs seem so boring. Sitting around fighting plants, taking naps, doing arts and crafts? Come on, that's not what games are about. Forgive me for sounding cynical, because trust me, I am, it's just that MMORPGs don't look appealing in the slightest.

Then I actually played one.

Surprising, that's the word that comes to mind. I got a chance to join the Everquest II beta, thanks to Sony Online Entertainment and the powers that be. And let me tell you, I didn't think I was actually going to sign up, I thought to myself, either I'd hate it and never want to play a game like it again, or I'd get sucked in and never stop playing it ever again. Well, I definitely didn't wind up doing something like that, so I'm happy.

Okay, let's start with the beginning, the installation process. It was long, annoying, and grueling. I don't ever want to go through that again. I had to sign up for an account at station.com, which apparently is the HUB for all Sony Online games of this nature, so that's cool. Then I had to start up the client, and then update. That took a long time, and when I say long, I mean a long time.

Finally, about 12 hours later, or however long it lasted while I was sleeping, I was ready to play! First thing I notice is that the characters look pretty good considering the size of the game. I had the option to choose from like twenty different classes, which is cool. I think I chose a dark elf, except I can't remember for sure.

The first part of the beta sticks you on this boat heading to Refugee Island! You get a short tutorial about how to do everything, which is sweet. The graphics are awesome, so amazing considering the type of game it is, totally unmatched by anything. Guess what else? There's voice acting! In a online RPG, voice acting! Wow! That's pretty impressive, I've got to say.

The way you control your character is really cool. You run with the WASD controls and use your mouse to look around, typical, but it works. You can scroll your mouse wheel in and out if you want to be in first or third person, so that's another nifty feature. I thought the way you access your commands and everything is cool too. There are little buttons underneath that you press to do certain things. Great fun.

I don't know what it is, but I'm loving this game. It's really cool. Maybe these things aren't all that impressive to experienced players, but to me it's awesome. I can't wait for this game to come out, even though I doubt I'll buy it. I don't know if World of Warcraft is better than this, but I doubt it. If I was in the beta for that I'd let you know!

A Halo killer, it is not.

I just got a chance to spend some time with the demo and I have some really mixed impressions about it, in almost every aspect of the game. Let me start off by saying it's a very good looking game, surprisingly good looking for the PlayStarion 2. However, it has some serious graphical issues. What I mean by that is there are some major clipping problems and you'll often times see your teammates standing half way underground as they run through the terrain. But overall the graphics are quite good.

It also sounds really good, the voice acting is good and the sound effects pull you in to the game. So it does all of that stuff right. But the gameplay, on the other hand, is a little harder to pin down. The technical side of Killzone is really impressive for the PS2. Graphically and sound-wise it's one of the best I've experienced on the system. But the gameplay is really hard to judge. Compared to the other PS2 FPS's I've played, it's really good. Not amazing or anything, but good enough to remain fun throughout the whole demo, or at least what I've played of it. Only problem is, the enemies look exactly the same for the most part, also the PS2 controller doesn't seem that responsive, and since the auto-aim - if there is any - doesn't work too well, you'll find yourself aiming all over the place as you shoot around.

It'll probably add to the difficulty, but I don't want it to be hard because it can't handle aiming itself right. Whatever. I can't tell though, if it's good only because it's a PS2 game or if it's good on a FPS level as a whole. It's certainly no Halo killer, I can tell that right of the bat from the demo. And it certainly isn't up to par with the newer FPS games out there like Far Cry, Doom 3, or Rainbow Six 3, but overall, it leaves me thinking that it's just something different. It reminds me of Soldier of Fortune for some reason and I have no idea why, whatsoever.

It's good, it's fun, it is impressive technically, so why do I feel like something is missing? I just don't know. I'm intrigued though, it's better than I expected, especially after all the awkward hype for the game. I'm genuinely excited, to see how good it is and to play the full game when it comes out. I might even pre-order it, but I don't know for sure. I can't tell if it's really something I'll want to buy. I need to spend more time with the Ratchet & Clank Up Your Arsenal demo to see if I'd rather buy that instead - which I probably will. Or I might just buy neither and save the money! Who knows, who cares. Well, those are my mini-impressions on the Killzone demo. I do recommend trying it.
