[QUOTE="kevbo77"][QUOTE="-ReD45"]Didn't third party support drop on N64 because developing for PS1 was easier?
Third party support hasn't dropped for PS3, its just multiplatforming now.

Yes, and getting slaughtered in software sales. Look at Madden '08, it has sold roughly 1.2 million on the 360 and about 400k on PS3. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the PS2 is the PS3's biggest enemy. For most causual gamers, buying a $129 system with thousands of games makes more sense then buying a $499-599 system with less than 100 games. As long as PS2 is outselling the PS3 look for the PS3 to have a bumpy ride.
But this same group of customers might be inclined to buy a PS3 once its price drops due to brand loyalty, which shouldn't be undersestimated. Over 120 million satisfied PS2 customers might tend to prefer buying a PS3 over a 360.
Lmao, brand loyalty. If the SNES-N64 debacle taught us anything its that brand loyalty ain't worth jack. People move to where the games are.
