My video card is a Nvidia 6600 LE, but i dont know how that would help. When i was playing portal i lowered the resolution and it must have been a higher refresh rate or something but now my monitor says out of range when i try to play it. And i have unistalled and reinstalled it many times. I have ran into this before but a simple unistal and reinstal worked on battlefield 2142, but i am confused why it isnt working here...can anybody please help me out?

Ok so I have bought 2 gbs or ram and a video card off of NCIX.com and have asked a question about my ram and got that out of the way.

So now i need to know if my new video card will be good and if i wont have any problems with it.

The video card is a: EVGA nVidia GeForce 8800GT Superclocked 512MB 2DVI/HDCP PCI-Express Video Card

My mobo is an Intel Desktop board D915GEV

If you need me to post any info about my computer just tell me because i dont really know what i need to post.

[QUOTE="Kniffy"]

Well my motherboard is a Intel Desktop Board D915GEV and it says DDR2 533 / 400 SDRAM: Four slots, dual channel (4gb max)

Will my new ram work with it?

Bgrngod

Yes it will. DDR2 is the type of formfactor really. The ram you have is faster then your mobo, so the speed will be what the Mobo sets it down too. Make sure you read up on what slots to use to get your duel channel mode enabled. If you put them in the wrong non-matched slots you will not get duel channel to work. Your mobo manual should spell this out pretty clearly.

Yeah, well on my mobo there is a set of 2 black slots and 2 blue slots, but its like (black)(blue) space in between (black)(blue)

And if you havent noticed yet, i dont know too much about computers.

And for crying out loud TURN OFF THE PC when you do it....

Bgrngod

Hahaha, sounds like something some of my pot smoking friends would do. I love my comp too much to be as stupid as that.
