A Gaze Into The Stars(pt.2)

After I neared 60 miles away from the next town I decided to prepare for nightfall. " It's already dusk...." I whispered, " ..... They might come out again to harass me." I thought about whether to go ahead and set up camp or risk getting killed by thieves trying to enter the town gates. " I'll try and walk 30 miles to see if I'll last." The sky was shifting from dusk to darkness by time I walked 50 feet. Within an hour of walking, climbing, swimming, etc. Nighttime had already appeared. "Maybe another 10 miles...." I stammered. I was sure enough to at least traveled a good 20 miles from all that work.

I spotted a caravan or something along the dirt road I was traveling on, it looked about 100 yards away. Fires and cheers could be heard from the group of travelers, kind of like a victory celebration. Spain sure was a very strange place. I heard something rustle in a trio of large trees, I checked back; nothing there. I just forgot about, probably a racoon or something, I thought. I jogged about 15 yards and I heard more rustling, before I could glance back something, I'm not sure what it was, tugged my hair and smacked me on the skull. Last thing I remember seeing was a pair of feet, then my eyes grew heavy. I think I blacked out......

A gaze into the stars

The sun was shining bright in my face as I arose. "ugh...." I grunted, " I hate mornings" I looked around the flora in the forest I had just slept in, " hmmm, seems as though I'm still alive. Unless heaven is very green." I staggered to my feet and grabbed my velvet knapsack, it was going to be another day of on-foot traveling, so I stumbled out of the edge of the forest. Suddenly, as I was at the edge of a green hill leading out of the forest, my senses told me danger was approaching. I quickly slid down the dew covered slope, hoping to get away from whatever was coming. Too late, a large silver figure leaped in front of me, an all too familiar growl was let loose from its drooling maw. Another figure appeared to my left, then my right, and behind me. I stared into yellow eyes that pierced my soul, yellow eyes stared into brown eyes, both without a scrap of fear. The silver beast in front of me lunged at my face, trying to tear it off. In a split second after it jumped at me I planted a foot right in its rib cage, a large sound echoed Krrrrck! Blood came spewing out of the beast's mouth, along with mucus and saliva, It hit the slope with a thud and rolled down the hill, it went limp when it reached the bottom. Another wolf sprinted at my left, I attempted to dodge and the creature barely grazed my breasts. The one to the right endeavored to maul me, I slammed my fist right into its mouth, blood, teeth, and saliva flying out. I cut my hand in its mouth, blood trickling down it. The last two wolves tried to flank me, making tactics by grunting, barking, and howling at each other. I had no clue what was coming next and wolves are smart creatures so there was no use in trying to predict them, but I wouldn't let them out smart me nor eat me for breakfast. They ran in circles around me after I swept one of its feet, almost tumbling down the hill. After having about ten laps around me, They both jumped at me simultaneously, one in front, one from behind. Since we were on a hill I used elevation to my advantage. One jumped from the top of the slope, the other at the bottom, I was in the middle. I tucked and rolled to the side, the wolf from the top and in front of me fell of balance in mid-air when its feet brushed its partner. It land on the bottom of the hill with an earth shattering thud and a sickening crunch, it had land right on its skull and shattered it, blood and fluids gushed into a puddle forming on the side of its head. The last wolf and I stared eye to eye, it tried to slip quietly away, but I wasn't going to tolerate that. I leaped up in the air and crushed its skull when I came down, I trampled its bleeding head to hard when I jumped up and landed on both feet. The wolf's head exploded into a shower of blood and tissue. I let out a short squeal and sprinted down the hill and towards the next town, leaving those creatures' bodies to decay. 5 miles later I took a short break, waiting for what lies ahead.....
