@buffaloblitz85 @luizferrarezzi Its not technically new. Its still the same old engine. Just with a new coat of paint. The animations are still bad, the visuals are still grainy.
@Darkangel2154 stay away from EA as well...Sure BF4 may be pretty but its more of the same. They still refusing to give us Mods, heavily enforcing DRM...and shoving DLC down our throats. Map packs use to be free, infact I recall there being atleast 2 map packs for Bad company 2 that were free...never got a single one for BF3.
@Adapttttttt and if you are going to make your game incredibly linear, atleast put some effort into the graphics. You dont have huge open area's that hog up memory so put that extra memory from next gen to good use!
@arkhamcity54 Though I do agree, BF4 though is nothing revolutionary either. From What I seen. Other than some updated graphics, It too looks more of the same. Hope Im wrong though, Ive always loved the battlefield Series.
But for me BF3 felt too much like COD, than a BF2 sequel.
After watching the new gameplay trailer, I just shake my head. With it being released for the next gen consoles they still did not create a new engine? I mean its soo clear that this engine is soo dated, no matter how many higher res textures you try to paint over it.
Pay attention to the dog, you notice how horrible the animations are. From jerky movement, to lack of contact to the ground. It often looks like the dog is floating/sliding over the ground when he moves.
If you are going to create a incredibly linear FPS shooter, atleast make it look amazing. Since most of your computing power is being put into the visuals, considering the fact that the maps are tiny and railroaded.
If you pay attention to the dog, you notice how awful his animations really are...They are incredibly jerky and sometimes it looks like he floats/skids across the ground when walking and running....Guess it goes to show that no matter how much touch ups you do, an old engine will still show its age...Its pretty pathetic after all these years they still refuse to make a new game engine.
