However you slice it, that's some shitty luck right there. Imagine leaving a company to work at another company and start fresh. Then THAT company goes under only to be bought out by the company you just left and then get fired on top of that?

@RustedTruck650 Ooooooh, I see. You're the type that just runs in and can't back their shit up because you have no valid argument when confronted with an actual argument.

You just believe second-hand markets are bad and that's it. You don't want to elaborate, because you can't, because you're brainwashed by these developers who bitch and moan about not making any money.

You're right. Keep going.

@RustedTruck650 More like basic economics. If people can only afford to buy one of something then guess what that means to the other games sitting on the shelf? They don't get bought.

@RustedTruck650 Brilliant. We should take your genius and apply it to every second-hand market is out there. Let's see how long the economy lasts when people are asked to buy $30,000 cars all the time.

I just have this to say to all the 'tards who think it's great if GameStop closes.

Developers think the key to missing profit is the second-hand market. However, THINK THIS THROUGH: It's only profiting because the games are cheap. If you hit the second-hand market and expect those consumers to now BUY EVERYTHING NEW, then they (the Devs) are going to suffer much higher profit loses than before simply because NOT EVERYONE CAN AFFORD TO BUY NEW.

So if you take away that market from people they simply will buy new games LESS often because they can't afford it, and there is no market for them to trade in games to accrue credit towards new games as well.

@wizemanschaos "Yes there is a used game fee but considering the circumstances this is tolerable, the industry has never gotten a red cent from used game sales and now they will finally start to seem something from it."

Please, explain what those "circumstances" are?

Stephen King doesn't receive a kickback from every used bookstore that sells his books. Musicians don't receive kickbacks from every used CD store that sells music. Hollywood studios don't receive kickbacks from used DVD/Blu-ray sales.

Why are games any different? The fact is, they're not. And you and people like you who believe this delusion that video games are placed on some untouchable pedestal that they deserve special consideration can never fully justify why you believe the way they do other than "GameStop is evil."

If you REALLY believed the BS you do, then any time you sold something at a garage sale, through eBay, or some other secondhand system, YOU would personally cut a check back to the original company of the product you were selling--because that's only "fair," right?

So I ask you, in your lifetime, how many royalty checks have you made out every time you sold something used? Certainly you didn't deign yourself worthy to "profit" from that used sale because that wouldn't be fair to the people that actually made the product originally. Who are you to profit from their work?

@philMcCrevis Nooooo! Blasphemy! MS trying to monopolize an industry to their control!

C'mon! That's absurd! They're only looking out for your best interest. It's not like they ever got in trouble in the past for trying to monopolize an industry....

@ken4062 @Kravyn81 @violian Oh I'm SURE there will still be bargain games available. You just have to pay the $52 fee first on top of that price to play it.

God, this is so friggin' awesome! Now I see why Microsoft is so popular! They are just on the ball with what the consumer really wants.
