"Here is a remastered version of the trailer from E3 2006 which had created sensation at the time of its presentation. This new version was carried out with the new engine for the playstation 3 and thus benefits from notable improvements: irrepproachable fluidity, additions of effects of particles, motion blur, lightings, additional angles of camera,... the result is extremely promising.

Note: watch trailer carefully at least till the middle of runtime to notice additions

-Running on latest 3D Engine on Ps3
-added new camera angles
-added storyline & extra gameplay with snake vs. enemy Giant machine

1)Smooth framerate the whole time.
2Particle effects are greatly improved. Whether it's sparks or rubble, whenever a Gekkou breaks something, there's a thick cloud of small stones and dust. Smoke is more prominent too.
3)Use of Motion blur.
4)Some very slight angle changes. For instance, when Snake picks up his cigarette."

Actually looks really good if you look at the previous version, then this one. Something I DON'T like though, is the fact that, after the scene where snake puts the gun in his mouth, then the credits come on (after the "METAL GEAR SOLID 4" logo pops up), in the E3 2006 version, it had "PLAYSTATION 3" next to the "Kojima Productions" symbol...

Now it's not there.

I know about all the stupid rumors, but that still makes me uneasy (and yes, I kno it's small, but if you clicked on this topic just for a REMASTERED version of the same trailer, then you must know how important some visual cues are). What's the point of taking that off?

On a side note, I love how the fullscreen + zoom x 2 looks on the "PLAY FRANCE" site (the link). The PS3 wave in the backround and everything is a nice touch.

hey retards! there is no point in saying that ubisoft is pathetic like most of you think. the ps3 is very difficult to make games on. they keep delaying it because it is hard to make games on ps3. its pathetic how people say ubisoft sucks. they are way better than you are.MrPatriot12

That's why an all around better game like OBLIVION came out when they said it would... not only that, but BETTER than the original versions?

right.

"In a special episode of Jeuxvideo.TV, a cockpit view has been confirmed for GT5. Most of the footage is of Gran Turismo 4, and then GTHD towards the end. However, half-way through the show you will see them modelling a cockpit view for a mercedes 300 SL. Kazunori of Polyphony Digital also confirms that there will be cockpit views in the game."

The Mercedes 300SL REAL interior view:

compare it to the halfway point in the video, and it's amazing.

Man, I can't wait to see what other changes they have in store for GT5.

Well I could see how some people might dig G4 I guess.   But there comments that are supposed to be funny just get overly complicated and long, and take up too much time (see VIRTUA FIGHTER 5 REVIEW, in the beginning... it doesn't even make sense)

Anyway, yea I'm definitly getting this when it comes out.  Did u see the huge explosion in the beginning? awesome.

And is it just me, or does the gameplay look busier now? (i hope so)

I think people forget that the director of LAIR frequently mentions that he knows it would be boring to only have flight combat and just with shooting fireballs.

So why is everyone saying it will be boring, or that it has no variety?

Personally, I think it's because most of the different gameplay stuff is spread out among the many videos of LAIR, and in small tidbits.

So I found this video by X-Play (yes, yes I know), who recently got to preview LAIR. There's even a specific part where it shows all the different stuff you can do (AT ANYPOINT DURING ACTUAL GAMEPLAY), that varies LAIR's gameplay.

And for those who don't like G4 and their humor (annoying sarcasm and "witty" comments), you can at least take relief in the fact that there would of most likely been a nonsense and nondescript quip about it if there were any major flaws they noticed, I think.

And the fact that there aren't any must say something.

and the full interview that's played in segments in the above videos is here:

I put both for each in case the direct link to the vids don't work for some.

I have to agree that GOW pales in comparison as far as fighting systems go.  To those that don't understand why, its because there aren't any timing sensitive combos in GOW's fighting system, which limits any combos to just how FAST you can press buttons. I don't know how else to explain it.

What I like personally though, is another story.  I don't have the time to get frustrated hours on end trying to beat a boss, just because I can't do a combo in the air that requires a 0.5 sec pause before swinging twice, then jumping and waiting a whole second right before hitting the ground so I'll hit it, and it's attacks will fly right over me.

I like GOW because of the beautiful scenery (gothic architecture gets old after three games... and now FOUR games) and I really am getting tired of the whole ancient japan related stories, a la, Shinobi/NG/Dynasty Warriors/Genji.  I think that's why other people like GOW so much more, and why its winning the poll now.

Not too mention GOW features new and dynamic weapons.  No one has ever done a game with 2 detachable chain scythes working in tandem, with an epic greek storyline that's entirely original, and that offers boss battles that NEVER require you to just be quick-nimbled with your weapon. i.e., I think Rygar had the right idea (is that the name?)

I think this argument applies with the whole Tekken versus VF thing too.

I like it.  It's like a more cartoony version of PSHOME only outside.

As for the chances of it coming here... not unless they rework it slightly.  I'm willing to bet there's probably a whole bunch of minigames, references, etc. that probably wouldn't be enjoyed/understood as well in other countries.

They had to completely remake the original elite beat agents on the DS before it came stateside, for example.

[QUOTE="UGAH"]Uh I think the X360 version is going to be better. I just bought splinter cell on the ps3 and it looked like ****Taalon

The PS3 version of Fight Night Round 3 has worse graphics than the Xbox 360 version too. There's barely any anti-aliasing at all. I'm running it on a 32" 1080i Sony Bravia HDTV, it should look better!

Everyone seems to forget that it's already been proven that ports CAN be better on the PS3 with OBLIVION.  That said, I'm not exactly sure this applies to a company like Capcom in all honesty.

As for the pics, I can't tell if I'm impressed or not.  Some enviroments look highly detailed, but they are probably mostly untouchable.  Everything else seems ps2-ish (like the character models).
