you know if you look in system settings i think under network or something there is a data feature where you can move all data from 1 ps3 to another just for this sort of thingwith an ethernet cord plugged into both, then it erases off the old one and puts it on the new one this helps keep trophies etc from being removed like if you save a file and try to move it to another ps3 with same screen name.

Try plugging it into a different outlet or spot, could be the plug if not could be a sign its just dying a slow death. When mine started turning itself off it got the flashing red light
HD Tomb Raider Trilogy possibly coming to PS3 March 2011

that only works sometimes if you are lucky it did not work with me when mine died about a month ago. You can go on youtube and find a vid that shows you how to take it apart to get your game out, i am far from a person who is good at that kind of stuff and it was easy for me, just be careful with screws. BE WARNED this may void Sony fixing your machine if you decide to send it in, and if you send it with the game i heard they give you a refund for the game but not the actual game not sure how true that is though.
A lot of people say the flashing red is just being overheated but obviously thats only the case sometimes. My PS3 does the same thing except now never comes on and is just a useless paperwieght now (60gb launch also upgraged to a 250GB). So it may be a sign of things to come, if i was you i would start backing up your HDD with an external and possibly start deleting important info if you use credit cards etc to buy stuff on PSN. Now i cannot do that and i lost every game save from the last couple years.
I dont care as long as it does not seem forced, fighting games and racing games are pretty good and easy. I would find it funny to see clank in an MGS game though, its nothing bad IMO
