Yeah, i guess it's not really a RPG like baldurs gate II for example, i guess it's more Action/Adventure, but thanks for the suggestion of Rune, i guess i'll check that one out!

The idea about a huge world with combat like Severance would be damn awesome, i don't know why more game's dont use this combat system, it's defintley the most enjoyable for hack n slash rather than just holding down the left mouse button on an enemy, but from what i've seen the combat in rise of the arganouts seem's pretty similar to severance, and you can decipate your foes...who knows it could turn out to be a great game :)

Severance: Blade of Darkness!

This game is pure brilliance, it didn't gather much attention back on it's release, due to it not having much marketing, but even today this game is amazing.

It's bascialy a Action/RPG & adventure all in one, there's some features in the game which are even pretty impressive today, for example your final slash on an enemy could take his head off, you can then pick up his head and use it as a weapon, and you can completey take off all their body parts, and launch them around the room.

Theres plenty of bosses, the soundtrack is fantastic and adds to the feeling of the game, and it's just a real shame that not many people got to experience this masterpiece.

So for anyone who's never played it, and likes these kind of games, i really suggest you check it out, you can pick it up on ebay for around £4, and you won't regret it.

And for anyone who's played this before, do you know any games which are similar? i'd love to try them.

I would love a new suikoden honestly, i've only just recently started the series, and it's defintley one of the best RPG series out there. It's a shame they never marketed it well though, considering i've always been a JRPG player, and i'd never even heard of suikoden till a while ago.

Try and argue this, fanboys:

1. Playstation Brand (includes PS1, PS2, PSP, etc)

2. Reliable Hardware (no RROD like the RRODBOX360! LOL)

3. Great Franchises (the best franchises in video game history, in fact)

4. Blu-Ray built-in (winning movie format)

5. Upgradable HDD (I am getting a terabyte HDD installed one day LOL)

6. Ethernet Input

7. Wifi built in (hey, let's buy a $100 wifi add on. That's a great idea!)

8. CompactFlash, SD Memory Card and Memory Stick Duo card slots (I use these to show pictures every day)

9. Wireless Controllers with built in rechargable battery which connects to the console to recharge (no batteries)

10. Linux Operating System (Linux >>> Windows)

11. PSP to PS3 connectivity

12. XMB- Able to easily navigate through the system whether you want to Play music CDs,
Connect to the internet to obtain detailed album information including album title, artist, length of album. Copy CDs directly to your hard drive. Store and listen to other formats of audio/music files. Play Blu-ray Discs and DVDs.Connect your digital video camera directly to the Playstation 3 with a USB cable. Store and watch your own videos. Download exclusive video content from Playstation Store and the Portal. Store your personal digital photo albums. Use any of the various slideshow options to view.

12. Free Online multiplayer that is also vastly superior to XBOX Live (which costs $50/year)

13. Downloadable software

14. Bluetooth compatibility- You are able to connect most bluetooth devices to the system wirelessly

15. Backwards Compatibility- Able to play most PS1 and PS2 games on the system

16. Community Interactions- Talk with others during game play. Send, receive and store text messages. Enjoy an audio chat anytime you're online with headset. Have a video chat with an EyeToy USB Camera. Manage and add friends to your Friend's list. Keep track of people you've played online.

17. Web Browser

18. Keyboard & Mouse support

19. Free game demo's

20. Free movie and game trailers

21. Motion Sensing Controllers

22. FF13 Versus will be 1000 times better than FF13, and Versus is PS# esclusive!

23. MAG- 256 online players

25. GOW3

26. Echochrome

27. FF7

28. MGS4- AAAA esclusive

29. MGS 2 Rise of the Patriots

30. Home - current hype AAA/AAAA

31. More overall worldwide sells than 360

32. Power of the Cell unlocked

33. Blu-ray player

34. ability to download old PS1 and PS2 games

35. Gran Turismo 5 (will PWN Forza and have close to 9000 cars, photorealistic, etc)

Seriously, how can the 360 compete? Anyone who argues otherwise is a blatant fanboy, and is not worth listening to.

Fart_Storm

Look, i'm a sony fan as well, have been since the PS1, however this post is a blatant fanboy post, i mean whats the point in this thread? and listing games like MGS2 for a PS3 post is ridiculous.

It was proven in a thread a few days ago from someone that NO Jrpgs sell well in the United States except Final Fantasy and Pokemon. And Pokemon games have only sold well on handhelds. So, that pretty much means that the ONLY Jrpgs to sell really well in the United States on consoles are Final Fantasy games. Seriously...go try and find million sellers of Jrpgs on consoles in the United States that don't have the words "Final Fantasy" in them. It really is pathetic. Why is the 360 getting so many Jrpgs when (other than Final Fantasy games) NO JRPG IN CONSOLE HISTORY has sold one million copies in the United States? I can understand if 360 were getting more Western rpgs. Those sell well in the U.S.

I am guilty of saying that lemmings just don't like Jrpgs. But, it turns out that most American gamers apparently feel the same way unless it is Final Fantasy...

So, this makes me wonder why any developer other than Square Enix would even attempt to bring Jrpgs to 360. It makes no logical sense to me. I can understand PS2 getting tons of rpgs. Those sold well in Japan. But 360 getting Jrpgs doesn't sell well in Japan or U.S. or Europe. But developers have chosen the 360 for the main platform for Jrpgs. Doesn't make any sense...
