Sweet. Hopefully they dont ruin this one with those monsters though.-DrRobotnik-

Tbh i actuley hope they add in a much more variation of enemies in this one, including different kinds of beasts, just fighting the same old piratey/humans get's very repetitive, the game was fantastic, but if the enemies were a lot more varied (like tomb raider) for example, it would be a much better game imo.

Sticking to console RPGs...

  • Final Fantasy IX (PS) - the whole series is good of course, but IX is my pick
  • Grandia (PS) - better than the sequel
  • Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga (PS2) - all SMT games are worth a look
  • Knights of the Old Republic (XB) - awesome Star Wars game from Bioware
  • Jade Empire (XB) - set in ancient China, another Bioware gem
  • Suikoden V (PS2) - again, the whole series is good but this is probably my favourite
  • Golden Sun (GBA) - underrated handheld RPG
  • Kingdom Hearts (PS2) - more action-based, don't be put off by the Disney characters
  • Fable (XB) - good game, pick up Lost Chapters if you can
  • Morrowind (XB) - PC-style free-roam RPG, true classic

There's a ton more too but those are just what I picked off the top of my head.

And looking to newer consoles, I'd highly recommend Mass Effect and Lost Odyssey (both 360).

Golden sun is no way underated, everywhere i go i hear how good it is, and the game has sold far over a million copies. Its a damn good game though, any rpg fan should have the golden sun duo in his collection :)

Hi all, i was kind of not in the last generation of consoles, and missed bascialy all of the great games, i love action adventure games, rpgs, stealth games ect.

So i was wondering, considering ps2 has a huge array of games, which ones are the must own ones? i currently have Okami and Metal Gear solid 2+3 and both FF's.

Why is people blaming Square-Enix. They are a company out to make money and thats never changed. The only reason some companies was loyal to the PS2 is because it was the most advanced system so there was no choice but to bring games to the PS2 only.

The problem was created by Sony at the start of the PS3 life. Think back to when it was released and it had a really low consoles sales and games sales ratio. Game developers also was having a hard time developing games as they was still getting used to the hardware. Game developers at that time was more reluctant to make exclusive games as they didn't know if they would make there money back with the way the PS3 was looking. Games coming out now would have to had to start developing back then so you should be glad some of them are only timed exclusive on the 360 as if the PS3 never improved in sales as it did then you wouldn't even had got the timed exclusives and FF might have had to go multi-plateform.

I don't know about everyone else, but i'm angry at the fact that Square-Enix OBVIOUSLY got paid by microsoft to release on this console, that is why WE are very mad, I wouldn't mind if they released on Xbox360 cause it would sell a lot more on it, that is false however since we all know it would sell much better on ps3 (in japan ATLEAST) and most likely everywhere else too.

Then why are you not made at Sony for not making an exclusive deal to get these games?

I agree that these types of game would sell better on the PS3 in Japan but that is exactly why MS is buying these games to help its sell the 360 in Japan. This is an obvious move that Sony could have stopped by getting in their first to buy exclusive rights.

In all honestly. i'm most mad at the fact i won't get to play these games unless i shell out another £200 on a xbox. Which at the time i thought there would be no chance these games would actuley go to that system, and with square's past, that seemed pretty clear...

Tell me about it, atleast we HOPE we still got FF13, the lack of news on the title is underwhelming, we better get some new info this E3.

[QUOTE="yaantey_basic"]I just wish sony would do something about it....ps3 is already far behind and if this trend continue they will loose Japan too...Only FF13 is exclusive to ps3...and i think they will make it multiplatform, hope it doesnt happen...but wheres the RPG's...this S**K totally...wish sony listen to the fans and do something :( My ps3 is no use these days except for Metal Gear :(LuckyLy

Honestly i think if those xbox 360 exclusives do well they will also release FF13 on xbox 360, it's much easier to create a multi-disc rpg, by just fitting the movies onto diffrent discs.

I seriously doubt Final Fantasy XIII/Versus will see its day on the 360. I'm willing to bet my PS3 that Sony already have the exclusive deal on lock down.

I really hope your right, the only other console i wouldn't mind FF on is nintendo. But yeah i guess that sony will do anything to keep that on the ps3. Now if they get DQ10 on PS3 too, i'd love that :)
