Do you think Sony holding monopoly over next-gen will be good for the industry?[QUOTE="ToScA-"]I concur. It is in the interest of all gamers that Xbox One fails harder than any console ever.princeofshapeir
I'm not disparaging Sony or PS4 but having Microsoft and Sony compete is ideal for gaming; having either one entirely dominating the industry isn't. Of course, there's nobody to blame for Xbox Juan's impending demise than MS themselves, but it will be troubling if Sony is the only one to come out of this.
Competition is being different. What competition is there between these two systems? There is "nobody" to blame for MS's demise. Uh... wouldn't it be the competition being better?Â
I'm confused. I thought you implied competition to be good (as long as MS is similar to the competition so we don't have a monopoly). Having two companies that sell similar products at the same prices is not a monopoly?Â
Yeah I see it now, "I want a competitive industry. I define this as being unable to tell were Sony ends and Microsoft begins."
Look up oligopoly and tell me this isn't the gaming industry.
When will people realize in the console industry of gaming is an oligarchy? Every single game starts at $60 and $50 the generation before. Is it just a free market coincidence that all the publishers have picked the same price to sell their software?
$74.99. That doesn't look or sound right for a game. Instead of seeing inflation just added on, like we saw for this gen, we will see it with new restrictions. The price hike from 50 to 60 this gen didn't mean the games are harder to make. It means the dollar was worth more in 2001 then in 2005. Do you really think that the technology got harder and slower from 01 to 05, so that the prices of games increased because of it? Better technology would seem to make things more streamlined. When things are streamlined prices don't increase.
