At least it has a zero percent failure rate. That is the last thing MS would want, but it should be the first thing on their mind. Make sure the thing works. I don't think the casual audience would be as patient as the core gamers that the 360 was directed towards. Hopefully they don't get distracted too much by all of their previous decisions and forget about the system working. The curse of the third console continues.

[QUOTE="LOXO7"]How many games did Sony publish this generation? Even if they didn't have the money, they could get money from a loan. The number of successful games they already published is evidence of their capabilities of paying back the loan and interest.

When games barley make profit, it is of no consequence to us. We get to play great games. Any kind of positive profits are still growth. If these kinds of numbers are not good enough then maybe the creators should look at cutting their production expenses more so then their innovative ideas?psx_warrior

I disagree with that. If they continue to have a hard time turning a profit, how do you know they won't sort to making a CoD style game in the future for the series since they believe that's what makes money? In other words, CoDfy it? After all, they are trying to make a living too.

Naughty Dog games recently are the CoD of the action adventure genre. I don't know if they'll jump ship from their bread and butter and CoDify their formula. Unlikely. As they are employed to differentiate the PS3 from the competitors. They make exclusives. They grew from 2006 to 2012 with the Uncharted franchise, in that they were successful enough to make three games.  I mean, if they were in trouble or they tanked on one of them, do you think they would have a chance with more games?

Backwards compatibility was a good feature. It saved space and money.

The game case may have an activation code on it. Once the code is inserted into the aware machine, that game cannot be divorced with it. But married games can be shared with ten other "family" members with the permission of the state (MS). Positive spin on this is a deterrent for burglary. There is no benefit for a thief to sell stolen XBone games because they will be married with you. Plus if you keep your wife or husband games close to the XBone's eye, it will record the crime taking place, thanks to the always watching feature.

You don't actually buy the console, you know, because you don't own it. You rent it. MS will tell you when it's time to stop playing.

they can't lower game budgets why?

Chris_Williams

Because Cliffy says it's silly. Higher budgets obviously mean higher quality games. A reason why we don't see low budget games... oh.

Cliffy B, why are there indie games?

It was built for Kinect. Who knows the reasons MS forced it into a next gen game?

What's the deal with the word consumers? We're customers. We buy games and don't absorb them. Although, the publishers would like it if we did.
