I just noticed the poll is at a dead even tie with 13 votes for all 3 options. Ha.

I would say that's good evidnece to support the theory that OT is split pretty evenly on this bill.

I vote always opposite of what I believe, because after all it is only a poll. Still about evenly split though.

This isn't true. People can always go to the emergency room and get treated. The ER cannot turn them down, even if they can't pay. And if they can't or don't pay then that cost gets passed on to everyone who does pay.

worlock77

And that is insane. Heath care is not a right, which the constitution protects, our rights. The system right now is backwards. What we need now is not more government intervention, but just some common sense.

One could argue that it falls under the "promote the general welfare" bit in the Constitution.

That is it. Everyone should be against Obamacare.

[QUOTE="LOXO7"]To my knowledge the Constitution doesn't say jack about health care, therefore it is unconstitutional. The federal government has no business in anything other than national defense. ShadowMoses900

In July of 1798, Congress passed a health care act and President John Adams signed - ?An Act for the Relief of Sick and Disabled Seamen.?The law authorized the creation of a government operated marine hospital service and mandated that privately employed sailors be required to purchase health care insurance.

There you go, from the founding fathers themselves. Congress even passed it. Also is car insurance unconstitutional as well? After all you are forced to buy that, otherwise you can't drive legally. And people who don't have health insurance pass their costs onto us and we have to pay for it, which is why our insurance goes up constantly.

It would be in everyones best interest if everyone had health coverage. Not only would it help people live longer (you know the moral thing) but it would also reduce your health care costs as well. It's a win-win.

Oh that's great. I looked up 'individual mandate' on wikipedia also. They're bad laws because they go against the constitution. If the law goes against anything in the bill of rights it's unconstitutional. There is no purpose for the Federal government to be involved with such matters. You are not forced to drive. I don't get the health insurance market I guess, because people who don't have health insurance don't get heath care unless they pay for it. It would be crazy if everyone had forced health insurance, just as it would be crazy for everyone to be forced to drive. I try to stay healthy myself. I save MORE money not getting myself hurt or sick. People taking responsibility for themselves and not having the Federal government do so is a true win-win scenario.

I wouldn't be surprised if all is ruled constitutional. The people don't care unless something happens drastically. Then of course they are all outraged anything like this can happen. For example the government drones flying over the states couldn't just happen the day after the movie Eagle Eye premiered. There needs to be discussion and controversy before an unconstitutional idea becomes law. This way the affect doesn't seem so drastic, even though it is.

It kinda makes those 9 years of legal issues, having to hire Immigration lawyers, having to pay fee after fee and jump through hoop after hoop to go from owning a work visa to having a green card in the states seem like a massive waste of time.

I am happy I desided to move back home seeing the general direction in the states is heading.

...Also as demonstrated below Kray has no issue with jumping to conclusions (and in this thread you can see obviously no qualms about making things up about others either) so why should it impede him here? He simply has no desire to participate in a polite discussion and would rather call others names.Ace6301
Yeah. He could school you all in reality, but the majority here would dismiss it. Maybe he would say it's a waste of his time? Then I would say what is the point? I think that is the purpose of discussion is to learn, especially on the Internet. We could compromise and bend to each other humoring or we could choose not to.

[QUOTE="LOXO7"]

[QUOTE="nocoolnamejim"] Actually, everyone who has debated with you has beaten you silly. Which is why most of the conservatives here want you to go away. Your argument style is to ignore and dismiss anything that doesn't already agree with your viewpoint by calling it "communist", assert your worldview is "reality", make a lot of references to "owning", "decimating", etc. people, complain that they're all leftists and move on. Which is, essentially, what you're doing now. I've explained why nobody is bothering to respond to your "arguments" anymore. It isn't because they are afraid of you or are embarrassed when you "expose" them. It's because they view it as a waste of time, similarly to how arguing with birthers or people who believe the world is flat is a waste of time. Your worldview and mindset is so off-kilter from the mainstream that there's no point in bothering to debate you. It's like volunteering to bang your head against a wall over and over again. Most people only need to do that once or twice before they decide it's way more enjoyable to watch others do it.Ace6301

But the thing is no one else besides kraychik has provided an example, like you say they have with the world is flat analogy. I believe we are waiting for you to disagree with him openly so we can continue this conversation of how illegals hurt the US economy or not. And if kraychik really has been defeated easily with examples I would like to find them because I'm still searching this thread. If you know where they are I would greatly appreciate it.

Kraychik laid claim that allowing illegals will destroy america (also that leftists want this but this isn't really relevant at the moment). Sun asked if he has any evidence of that claim. Kraychik calls him a communist. Sun asks for evidence. Kray calls him a communist. Repeat a few more times. Do you not think an unfounded statement warrants some evidence to back it up before a debate is deemed worth the time? Kray has never provided such a thing. This also isn't the first time he's been in a topic and we all know his MO by now.

Well, it's not the only thing that will contribute to destroy America. The poor economy will destroy America. How will letting illegals affirm citizenship benefit America? I don't see it. Peter Schiff on Immigration. I agree with this economist.
