I don't think it was the guys intent to hurt Dorsey, all I know is what happened and that is that Dorsey got hurt on an unfortunate block that kept him out of alot of plays all season long. However, It doesn't matter if it was a mistake or not. What occured on the play was a chop block. Sorry but that's fact.
Personally, as a former D-lineman, I think any block that is designed to take out a D-linemans knees should automatically be illegal. Thats why I had to stop playing because on almost every play I would get speared in my knees and me being over 6'5 it was relatively simple for a smaller lineman to just go right after my knees. I still have trouble walking due to the abuse done on my legs and since, for some reason, it is a completely legal play. I don't understand why that isn't illegal but it is for me to just barley put my hand on the QB helmet.
On another note that article was written by a pro-Auburn writer so I don't know how unbiased the article is. I mean down here it is still recognized as a designed play to take out Dorsey. My only beef with the play is that even if it wasn't meant to be a chop block it was still designed to knock his knees out.
