Flagship, the Capcom subsidiary that worked on Four Swords and The Minish Cap, was dissolved by Capcom, so Nintendo took over their work and decided to make a full-fledged Zelda in a more traditional, yet new, vein. You know that as Phantom Hourglass.
Basically, what started as Four Swords project became the direct sequel to Wind Waker instead.

If its literally broken in half and the wires are beyonf repair just throw it away, no one can fix it and if they can they will prob end up charging you around the same price as a used DS or a brand new DS. Just save some money up and buy one. BTW the user above me seems to have a reading disability :P . He said he has no serial number, without that Nintendo won't even bother with it.
The Ipod on the DS is actually a homebrew made for certain "things" that we can't mention on this forum. Please don't post material like that or you may end up getting a perma ban.
