I've got a Japanese movie i really want to watch but can't seem to get the film to recognise the .srt subtitle file that it is meant to utilize. So basically how do i get the PS3 to put film and srt together without having to put it back onto my PC for a hard encode.meischris39

It's not possible. The PS3 doesn't recognize .srt files :(

Euro 60GB (upgraded to 250GB).

Firmware upgrade worked fine.

But the 4.0 "patch" of Super Stardust HD caused my PS3 to stop recognizing my hard drive on the first try. Solution = restart the console using the power switch on the front (not on the back). The three following attempts failed with the PS3 restarting/crashing before the download could proceed. The fifth attempt at downloading the SSDHD patch worked. No problems after this.

If you have the latest firmware, your PS3 connected to your TV via HDMI and have changed the settings in your PS3 to upconvert DVD's, it will upconvert DVD's. Check the online manual.
