Well, I know you can buy Just Cause 2 off of steam, which has steam cloud and steam achievements. I'm wondering if I added it to steam (retail copy), would I get those benefits?

SadExchange

Just Cause 2 is a Steamworks game, it will install itself via steam if you already have it. If you don't it will require it for installation. Either way you will have the achievements and Steam Cloud.

Does anyone know, if I get a retail copy and then go on Steam and add a non steam game (which this would be right because it's a retail copy), would I still be able to get the achievements and get steamcloud? How do I do it? Do I add a non steam game or activate a product on steam?

SadExchange

You can add non-steamworks games to Steam, however this only allows the community tab and in some cases automatically updates the game. However the games you speak of are Steamworks if you buy "Left 4 Dead" for example at retail, you may earn all achievements and be allowed all updates too. Steamcloud only currently applies to Left 4 Dead 2 I think and perhaps more Valve games in the future. Which game do you talk of specifically?

If I uninstall a device through device manager, does it still draw power?

I started playing HL2 a while back but never got too far with it. Gunna pick this mod up, hopefully it will run fine at max settings. Think it will? E8400 @ 3ghz 8800GTX 4gigs RamDasVolks

You're close to my spec so you should run it fine. You do have a 64-bit OS though?

[QUOTE="Dante2710"]Ill prob get called an ass, or whatever, but if you bought the game you have no right to complain. You knew there was a reason as to why they removed dedicated servers and mods tools, yet you still bought the game. . mkaliaz

I have to agree. I thought it was pretty obvious why Activision did what they did about the dedicated servers. It wasnt about cost (considering most servers are run by outside parties at no cost to the developer/publisher), it was all about the control.

Plus, with the higher than usual selling price of MW2 on the PC, it really doesnt suprise me at all they are gouging their customers on this map pack.

One can't complain, there are plenty out there willing to pay that price. My major qualm here is its representation of video gaming as a hobby, there's so many great games out there, if you'd just jettison this weak title and explore with your funds.

Portal 2 may have a November release. As for July, maybe Rage or Brink?

There seems to be a consensus here that people aren't convinced it's worth its price. I'm one of them. I had the same experience with Red Faction - Guerrilla, bought it in a Steam sale and I'm glad I paid no more. There was much fun to be had, but ultimately it was a little shallow.
