Nothing Much

No, really, nothing has been happening with me. Everything that I've been doing lately has been kind of uneventful. Not because I was busy, but because I've just been too tired and too lazy to do anything. Yep, even for video games I was too lazy.

Lets see, today I cleaned out my backpack. There was so much useless junk in there. My backpack was weighed at 5 lbs. with just the mess inside alone. And it was super dirty; I had to take a shower because it was so dirty. Not that it has all been removed, I noticed I've been having less back pains, which is pretty nice. I would still really love to get a professional back massage done, though. I apparently have a lot of tenseness up in my shoulders, so they are always kind of hunched up. People are constantly telling me to relax my shoulders, when they actually are in a relaxed position when hunched up.

I've been having a sudden urge to play The Sims 2. I wish I had money to go buy it. I'm really glad that we finally have a computer in the house that can decently run some games. The one I'm typing on now, can't run most games. It even has trouble with things like SimTheme Park. Of course, that computer was supposed to go in my room, but of course, my sister managed to get it into her room somehow. It's supposed to be our computer, but it's starting to turn into more of her computer.

Nothing else much to say. In 5 days, it's my one year anniversary with GameSpot. I actually joined around November of 2004, but that was on an old account. I'm probably going to get out of Level 20 soon. I normally don't care about my level, but it's still nice to finally get out of it. And in 28 days it's my birthday, which is quite lovely.

A New Light?

Well, GameSpot has just posted their review for Sonic and the Secret Rings on the Wii. This is the first 3D Sonic game to get above a 7 on GameSpot for a very long time; but lets face it: Sonic Heroes was crap so that shouldn't count. :P I personally think there hasn't been a good 3D Sonic game that wasn't a remake since Sonic Adventure 2 for the Dreamcast. That's almost 6 years ago. :| And if you read my reviews, you would know that I gave Sonic Riders a 7.7, but I don't count that because it's not a platformer.

I'll admit I'm still a little skeptical about the control scheme. Basically, you are constantly moving forward through the level at high speeds trying to avoid obstacles. It just sounds like something I'll get tired of after a while. The review said that the game will sometimes give you more challenges besides reaching the start to finish, like collecting a certain amount of coins, or not beating a single enemy; makes me kind of wish the Wii had acheivement points. :(

I wish there could have been more to the included multiplayer mini games. Rayman and Monkey Ball have apparently already covered the ideas this game has.

I'm not too huge of a graphics person, but I just don't agree with the reviewer from what I've seen on the screenshots and videos. I feel like this game was a direct rip from Sonic Heroes or Shadow the Hedgehog, which wasn't spectacular on the GameCube and is pretty bad on the Wii. Hopefully the game will look better when I actually see it for myself.

I don't have a Wii yet, but this game sure is a bit of an incentive, because I'm a pretty big Sonic fan. All of the past couple of games have been crap, but hopefully this brings back the series' momentum. But I don't want this to be the blueprint of future Sonic games; I want this to be the diversion that puts everything back on track. I'll be a very happy person when a true Sonic Adventure 3 comes out.

I Want Stuff

Oh god, there is so much expensive things I want right now, but I probably won't have for a really long time. My birthday is only a month away, but I'm not going to be getting anything for it, because I'm going on an expensive field trip to Washington D.C. with the school band.

I really want an HDTV. I'm sick of gaming on a small 10 inch TV with no stereo suppport. It's so pathetic that I can't read anything on my 360 games, because my TV is too small. And I want my games to run at high definition, so I can feel like I got 400 dollars worth out my console.

I want a Wii, too. You might find this weird, but I don't really want it for Zelda; don't get my wrong, I want Zelda, but it's just not my center of attention right now. I really want Rayman. That game just looks so awesome.

And I really need Xbox Live. I want to wait until I can the 50 dollars for a year deal. The other plans are rip offs and I don't want to go through the hassle of rasing money for Xbox Live every months.

'Yotifying

Well, I've decided to change my profile stuff to reflect my favorite NHL team, the Phoenix Coyotes. Sure, they aren't very good, but I'm an Arizona boy so I still love 'em. :D

I haven't too much gaming recently. I finished my first season of NHL 07 for the 360 and I made some progress in Oblivion, but my sister saved over my file...twice. :x

I just noticed I haven't written a review in almost half a year, so I cooked up a brand new review for Phoenix Wright. Here it is. Give a reccomend if you like it. :) I want to get to 10 reviews, but I'm stuck on 9 right now. I might review Tales of the Abyss or NHL 07 next.

Yeah, that's it. I just wanted an update, because the last one was a month ago. I'm noticing I'm coming to GameSpot more and more. Which I know you, all my fans, love. ;)

I'm Serious This Time

I really did mean to come back, but I suddenly had to take a trip. Anyway, I do intend to make my return back to GameSpot, though. I guess starting now since I have all of this spare time.

Anyway, I did manage to get my new Xbox 360. They were having some sort of holiday special so I got a free year replacement plan and Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. I'm not into controlling squads and all of that crap, so I sold GRAW for 20 dollars on Amazon. Then I bought some points so I could buy Uno, an episode of South Park, and some Phoenix Coyotes stuff. Pretty good stuff, and Elder Scrolls is pretty fun, too. :D

Well, I guess I'll start my return to GameSpot right now. Look out for me. ;)

Oh, and if you want to be on my friend list on Xbox Live send a friend request to the gamertag Blubba Jenkins.

I Have a Holiday Gift for All of You...

My return to GameSpot!

I know, you're so overfilled joy. Anyway, I 'll try to be a little more active this time, especially in the unions I'm in. And I don't go back to school for another 2 weeks, because unlike most of you I got out on the 22nd. To be truthful, I wasn't doing very much. I was just playing a lot of NHL 07. I managed to finish two seasons, winning the Stanley Cup both times.

For Christmas this year I got Yoshi's Island DS, The Elder Scrolls IV, and 400 dollars to buy an Xbox 360. I'm hoping I can go to the store tomorrow to go buy the 360, but it depends if I can get a ride.

I'm really tired right now, though. It's almost midnigt, so I'll probably get all of your blogs and the forums tomorrow morning, and possibly, just possibly get a 360. I also want to get some reviews done for Phoenix Wright, NHL 07, and Tales of the Abyss.

Well, I'll talk to all of you guys tomorrow. Good night and happy holidays! :D

EA Wins this Year's Hockey War

I'm assuming if you are not interested in hockey than this following blog probably won't be too meaningful to you, and that probably includes a lot of you. And if you're in that majority, then start getting interested in hockey, damnit!

It's been a while since I've been able to say this, but I think EA is making a fine hockey game this year. The new skill stick stuff looks great, and the AI and animations look a lot better. Usually in any hockey video game, a one-timer was a guaranteed goal. Now it doesn't look too much like that. And the skill stick looks great. Of course, I can't get the Xbox 360 version of the game, so I won't be getting the full thing, but at least being able to pass like that is good. It makes a little upset that they aren't making a GameCube version this year, though. I don't mind playing it on the PS2, but I've always been naturally better with the GC controller, and I've never really cared about online play in my hockey game. I'm glad to say I already preordered the game, which comes out September 12.

In comparison, NHL 2K7 looks pathetic. It has all of the same animations and it still looks like a one-timer fiesta. Plus, cinemotion just looks dumb. :? I don't need a stupid musical score during my hockey game. Also, since they went with 3 different styles, the traditional broadcast is likely to repeat itself a lot. The only thing I can say for the game is that the camera angle looks awesome. Sorry 2K, you can't win all of the years. EA is taking back the throne.

Sweeping the Dust Under the Fridge

I've been wanting to clean up my friends list for a while now, and I finally have. It was annoying having people there I never talked, too. I use to just add them for the emblem, but now I don't care. It's also really wasier to keep track of the blogs of people I actually care about now.

I also get less union invites, which is very nice. When will people learn that spamming my inbox is going to encourage me NOT to join. I also stumbled upon a profile of a person who gave me this problem, and I noticed it stopped. Now I know why:

The problem is with this guy is that one of GameSpot's numerous bugs would only give me the option to "Track" instead of "Stop Tracking" so that guy is left on there. It's not much of a deal, but it still kind of bothers me.

Yeah, that's it for today. Nothing else very interesting has been happening. I just beat a couple of missions in Grand Theft Auto and got a little farther in God of War. I also played a bit of Katamari Damancy, which I recently bought. It's pretty fun, but I'm stuck on one part. I've been trying to play SSX: On Tour, but my mom has been playing a bunch of Medal of Honor on the GameCube, so I can't.

Note: I might have taken you off my friends list by accident. PM if that's the case, and I'll add you, again.

I'm Back from Saving the Innocent

Wow, it's been a while since I last did a blog. Heck, it's been a long time since I did anything on GameSpot. And it's all thanks to a game that has been quite a controversy in my some of my recent blogs. That's right; it's here. ;)

So as you might have guessed, I bought Phoenix Wright. I pre-ordered it from Target, since apparently Capcom shipped another shipment. Man, it's been worth all of the trouble it has been causing me. I already beat it, because I just couldn't put it down. It's sad actually; it was a really great game, but only if it was a little longer. It's not the game was super short, it was just that the addicting nature kept me hooked until I saw the game to its end.

I got bored of Devil May Cry 3. It was just a pretty repetitive hack and slash. So, I returned it for God of War, which is also pretty much a hack and slash. But there's more to it than that; it's hard to describe, but God of War has a sparkle that really didn't show in Devil May Cry 3.

I decided to buy a couple more games. SSX: On Tour and Katamari Damancy. I can't wait for them to come. It's at moments like these where I wish I had a car to pick up the games up myself instead of waiting for slow, standard shipping. . I also finally got around to pre-ordering Tales of the Abyss. It's strange, though; Target only had it up for 30 dollars on Amazon. That's really cheap, for a game as long as that, if you ask me. But what should I care? The cheaper, the better.

I just started school a week ago. I'm now a freshmen in high school. You don't know how great I feel inside. :| Actually, I'm glad school started because now I can get away from my family, which has been bothering me for a while. I swear my father is such a jackass. He doesn't trust anyone with anything. He gets to eat in the living room, while we don't because he thinks we'll make a mess. Also, when we get into an argument about it, he just told me to go to my room and be silent, because he was too arrogant to accept that I have the possibility of being right even though I'm a kid. And now he's trying to find out why I'm ignoring him. I think it's pretty obvious, but that's just me.

So, yes I will be back on GameSpot. Not as much since I'm starting school, but a lot more than the past week and a half or so. I'll look forward to your blog entries and getting back to my unions. :) Also, the video for the worst boxart is not cancelled! It's coming soon. :D

March a Mile for Free Soda

There has been a lot things happening recently. My eldest sister has nailed a job here in the Atlanta area, so she's living with us until she gets a place of her own. A lot of stuff has been happening in Band Camp, too. I also tried doing something new and played a lot of video games. :P Yeah.

So my sister moved in. I have older sisters. The sister that normally lives with is 2 years older than me, and the one that is moving in is 13 years older. Weird, I know. I'm going to enjoy her company since I can actually get along with her. That might change once we're together for a long time, though.

Band Camp has been a little more tolerable now that I've been at it for a while now. It still hurts having to hold my trombone up for such a long time. Today, we played and marched at a parade. We marched for one mile, with no breaks or stops in between. I didn't have the song we had to play memorized, but my friend came up with this creative idea to make a miniature version of the song and then tape to the bell of the trombone so you could read while marching. What a great idea. I'm so tired after marching for so long, but at least we got free soda at the end. :P

Off to the crazy video game things the kids like these days. Klonoa: Door to Plantomile came in the mail along with a PlayStation 1 memory card. It's a pretty fun platformer. I also got Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition from GameFly. It's a pretty fun hack and slash. Though, it does get a little repetitive, and the boss fights are boring. I got a little farther in Resident Evil 4. I hated that part in the garden where the dogs had tentacles and stuff, and those bugs in the sewers that turned invisisble were a pain in the ass. I'm glad Ashley got kidnapped again, because the camera angle is better when it's just on Leon
instead of having to focus on both of them. :P

That's it for now. I apparently completely skipped Level 16 and I still have the Boss of Bosses emblem for watching Button Mashing. Weird. I'm thinking of doing a video about the worst box art ever made. Stay tuned!
