Band Camp is Hell

So, I've started Band Camp. It's actually pretty hard. It's hard to remember all of the formations that I have to do. This week has only been for the people new to marching band. Next week we'll actually start playing and marching at the time. That should be as hard as hell because marching is already hard enough. What benefit do I get out of all of this? I really don't like playing in band, and I'm sure to not get any respect in school for this, if not get made fun of by people. The football team already seems to be having a field day with us. Where is the love? At least, it counts as an extra curricular activity, which will look good when I apply for a collage.

But damn, I feel so soar. My feet hurt because I have to stand from 8 to 12, which will only get worse because next week it's from 9 to 5. My arms hurt because you have to constantly hold your hands up. Sure, we get water breaks every 30 minutes, but it's still a pain in the butt. Damn, I need to get in shape. V_V

So, Phoenix Wright never arrived, so I got a full refund. Finally, that's all over. Thank god. I might buy Phoenix Wright, when another shipment comes in and the price for used copies goes down. Anyway, with the refunded money I bought Klonoa: Door to Plantomile for the PS1. I'm pretty excited and stuff.

I returned Hitman 2. It was okay, but some of the mechanics just don't feel fresh and the gameplay feels a little outdated. Granted, it is a 2002 game. I'm pretty sure Blood Money is much better so I'll take my chances with that.

Yeah, that's all that has been happening lately. I got the Boss of Bosses emblem for catching Button Matching live. That should change soon, though. I'm pretty close to Level 16, and I hope the glitch works for me.

Before I go, I just want to say that if you've beaten Tales of Symphonia you might be interested by  this. See you later guys.

My Soul Can Finally Rest At Ease

No, Phoenix Wright hasn't arrived. Something else is making me a much happier man. I recently just beat Metal Gear Solid 3 for the first time. I was having trouble beating the final boss, but I found out a good way to do it. Instead of using stealth alot, I just went straight up to her and used a couple of CQC moves to knock her down, and instead of shooting her with a gun, and shot a traqulizer gun at her so I could do a stanima kill. It's surprisingly much easier to than a normal kill, and I got another uniform for it, too.

I really enjoyed the game. The gameplay was really fun both online and offline, and the story was just superb. Now I understand why everyone wants Hideo Kojima to make movies. I hope the MGS movie he's making is good. It better be or else there is no hope in hell for movies based on video games.

Like I said Phoenix Wright still hasn't arrived so I just sent an e-mail to the guy asking why it's taking so long. Plus, if it doesn't come within 5 days I get a complete refund. Awesome.

The Law Has Never Taken So Long!

As you may or may not know, I ordererd Phoenix Wright a little while back. I ordered it on the fourth of July and it's still not here! Usually, my orders come in before the expected Amazon dates, but this one sure doesn't look like it. I have been waiting to play for this game for so long, and when I finally find a good price, the order takes forever.

I'm going to be a lazy jerk and discontinue the Summer Goals I had been doing for a while. Some of the goals were just too unrealistic, and I really didn't feel like keeping up with it. Bite me...though I doubt any of you care too much.

Lately, I've been mainly playing all GameCube RPGs. I received Skies of Arcadia Legends in the mail a while ago. It's pretty fun even if it has a turn-based battle system. I think I'm pretty close to the end in Baten Kaitos. All I can say is that it's a really fun game and the battle system is really unique. Then there's Tales of Symphonia. I'm near the end in my eigth playthrough. I love that game. It's just so good. I should write a review for it one day. Hopefully I will so I can fully explain it's awesomeness.

Speaking of reviews *cough* I don't think I ever advertised my Brain Age review to the world. And if I did, well if you could bleed once, you can bleed again. And I just recently finsihed up a Harvest Moon: Magical Melody review. Please, read them and give me any advise or compliments or whatever. And if you liked it, make sure to click "Recommend", because I like to have a good record. :)

Court Dismissed.

DS Lite Review and Superman

My sister got back from her school trip my Italy. The thing is, I let her borrow my game pak and a couple of my DS and GBA games. This included: Super Mario Advance, Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland, Kirby & the Amazing Mirror, Brain Age, and Animal Crossing: Wild World. And guess what? Someone stole it. So now she's paying me for the amount I payed for each of the games. It all totals to $130, and she has payed $50. Around the same time I was looking on Amazon for Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney on the DS and someone had a really good price of $26, so I bought knowing that will probably be the last time any price will go down that low for the game. Damn, it must have really sold badly.

I recently saw Superman Returns. It was a pretty good movie. Kevin Spacey did a really good job as Lex Luther and the new actor for Superman wasn't too bad, either. However, I thought the story was a little flawed with the whole thing with Lois Lane's kid. Damn, I feel sorry for that Richard. I would recommend seeing this movie, because I really liked it.

And lastly, I did a little video review for the DS Lite. I hope you guys like it.

Back from Deep South Georgia

Hey guys, I just got back from my trip. I had a good time with my friend down there. I was expecting to only stay a couple of days, but they kept nagging for me to stay more. We mostly played co-op in Tales of Symphonia and the mini games in New Super Mario Bros.

He actually already owned the gift I gave for his confirmation, which was New Super Mario Bros., so my mom decided to mail him a DS Lite, along with the one I had pre-ordered, and let me keep the old gift. :D I must say, I like it. The screens aren't as bright as I had expected, but the options to have different light setting is nice. The new d-pad, stylus, and bigger buttons all feel more comfortable. The smaller and sleeker design is much better, too. Some of the new placements are bad, though. The new microphone placement makes more sense, but what were they thinking with the Start and Select buttons? Overall, it's a pretty good DS, but if you have the old one there is no point in getting a new one. As for New Super Mario Bros., it's fun, but some of the old mechanics have aged. I might write a review for it.

The World Cup seems to be going well, with Brazil kicking butt and taking names as they always do. :D It's sad to see Mexico lose to Argentina, and Germany looks as fierce as ever. My final predictions are Germany and Brazil duking it out for the World Cup, as they were last time, but I'm a little worried about what the results might be this time.

Heading Out for a Week or So

Tomorrow I'll be heading towards Savannah, Georgia, a place where I used to live. Why? My friend from there is getting confirmed at his church, so I, of course, have to go. Then my parents will be leaving me at his house there for a week or so, which will be loads of fun. I also bought him New Super Mario Bros. as a gift for being confirmed.

If you look at my Now Playing list right over to the righthand side of this very screen, you will see all of the games we will be playing. I'll be hunkering my big PS2 over there because he doesn't have one. And, of course, all of the stuff I need to get online with. I can easily see us spending most of our time playing Star Fox: Assualt and Mario Superstar Baseball.

I never really had the need for a second PS2 controller until now. Usually my friends had one of there own to bring, but since this one doesn't have a PS2, I went ahead and bought another one. I bought the Logitech Wireless Action Controller. Dear god, what an awesome controller. The controller is a lot easier to grip than the DualShock 2 and plus it's wireless. I think it was a good investment. But damn, it was 40 dollars! You could get a WaveBird (the wireless GameCube controller) for ten dollars less!

I have really nothing else to say. Bob Colayco leaving GameSpot is making me depressed. :( He was a really good editor and he was mandatory for the HotSpot experience.

And with that, see you later guys. :)

Summer Vacation Goals: Update 1

Time for the first update in the good ol' goals I set for myself a couple of blog entries back. I just accomplished 2. Yay. :|

I just became a GameSpot Complete member. I was a little worried about it at first, but it really is worth it. It's really worth it. User videos are awesome, ads are all gone, and the videos look so much better! I swear to you, I watched the Battlefield 2: Modern Combat tournement on GameSpot in low resolution and then cranked it up to high resolution. Dear god, it looked so much better.

I also posted up my first user video. The reaction wasn't what I expected, but I'm really happy that I reached the second row of emblems so I could atleast accomplish more than 1 goal.

GameSpot Total Access! (First User Video Inside!)

That's right I'm a GameSpot Subscriber now! It's something I've wanted to do ever since I had my old account, NintendoNerd328 in 2004. Now I fianlly am one.

I've been playing a lot of stuff lately. Right now, I'm playing Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. I just got my first Beanstar. Man, that game is really hard. It's one of the hardest games I've ever played. I've also played a little bit of Resident Evil 4 every now and then. I had to start over because I bought a rifle too early in the game when it was useless, and then sold, but by the time I needed it I didn't have enough money.

A while back, I was pretty addicted to Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. I was mostly just taking care of all of my chao. I also played a lot of multiplayer in Medal of Honor: European Assault with my mom! :D

I did something so stupid. I let my sister's friend borrow Tales of Symphonia when I was really addicted to it. :x Now I have nothing to satisfy myself with! Speaking of Namco RPGs on the GameCube, I returned Baten Kaitos back to GameFly. It's a great game, but I think if I played anymore I would probably be to close to finishing the game and I didn't want to do that until I own the game. The next game I'm getting is Super Monkey Ball.

Here is a video my sister and I made pretty quickly. At the beginning the idea was a joke, but then me and my sisiter decided to turn into a movie where I pretend that it was a real conflict in my early life. I personally thought it was okay. Please, leave some comments about it. My sister and I tried making it somewhat funny.

And before I go, I'll tell you that I will update my summer vacation goals tomorrow. I have accomplished a bit of them now with the whole GameSpot subscriber thing.

Summer Vacation Goals

I'm bored so I'm going to set some goals I want to finish by the end of Summer Vacation. Also, I'll be able to look back at this and know I actually did something worthwhile over the vacation.

This should be a lot of fun. I doubt I'll get them all done, but atleast I'll know that I tried. :P

My Plans for the Next Generation of Video Games

I can't beleive the next generation has already started. The GameCube, PlayStation 2, and Xbox are slowy dieng, or already dead. So as that happens we have bigger machines with better graphics and new ways to play (the last comment does indeed fact apply to the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, not just the Wii). Now it seems like I have some choices as to what systems I should buy, and when I should buy them.

Let me just give you an overview of my thought from this generation. I liked the GameCube and PlayStation 2. The GameCube had loads of exclusive games that you just couldn't get anywhere else. The PlayStation 2 had online play, some exclusive games, and huge amount of 3rd party support. However, my opinion of the Xbox is different. You had to pay for online play, first party support was pathetic, and there just weren't enough good games for the Xbox that you couldn't already get on the PlayStation 2.

My thoughts for the next generation are much different. I'm defintetly getting a Wii. I'm very excited about the new controller and using it to play games. Also, I need to catch up on the NES, SNES, and N64 days, so the Virtual Console will prove to be very useful. Now, the PlayStation 3 doesn't appeal to me as much as the PS2 did. $500, let alone $600 is way too much for a console. Also, none of the games on it appeal to me much, and even I won't fork down $550 or $650 for Metal Gear Solid 4. Sorry Hideo Kojima, I just can't do it this time. The Xbox 360 actually looks pretty good. There are couple of games on there that appeal to me, such as Sonic the Hedgehog, and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, plus the new online features justify having to pay for it in my opinion.

I don't think I'll be buying a Wii at launch. Unless, Super Mario Galaxy launches on the same day as the Wii, I really don't see any games to make me lose a hard earned 200 dollars. Getting a Wii as a Christmas present seems more logical. As for the 360, I think I'll buy it in 2007 with Oblivion and Sonic the Hedgehog. Hopefully by then, the 20 GB hardrive will have a price drop.
