I'm not sure I would term the X1 as a must-have right now either, to be honest. However, I do like the digital component they are seeking to implement, especially the ability for me to play my games on any X1 disc free, as well as sharing them with my family members. The potential of the MS cloud and dedicated servers is also exciting to me. Finally, I am an avid halo player, making Halo 5 a necessity.
Will I purchase at launch? Probably not. I may even wait to Halo 5 to make sure I'm seeing things correctly. At the present time though, X1 has more potential and personal value to me, making it my first purchase and relegating PS4 to 2nd.
How is it sad that they stuck with me for 3 years to make it right? I appreciate that. Not to mention that with the recent changes by MS they have the superior console. The only slight worry I have is the compatibility of my aftermarket stuff, but I assume can be fixed with adapters.
Don't get me wrong, I'll probably pick up a PS4 too at some point, but that'll be down the road. There's nothing there right now that makes it must-have for me.
@zeta @jark888 Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm fairly certain that most consoles are sold at a loss, especially towards the beginning of their lifetime.
@redskins2156 @123crip123 That's because MS didn't lose millions of credit card numbers. Sony did. And MS realized their issue and replaced consoles for free, including shipping. I had 2 RROD in my first 2-3 years. MS sent me a box to send my console in, and had a new one to me in a week at absolutely no cost to me. I'll take that any day.
