Thanks for the input! Anyone else have any suggestions?

Hey folks,
I am in desperate need of a good graphics card cooler. Currently, my 4870 has, and please don't kill me, its STOCK COOLER. I'm on Newegg right now but I don't really know what any of this stuff means! Thanks in advance =]
Haha. Those sure were the days. At this rate, I suppose games will need 4GB pretty soon...Thanks for the input =]
RAM would be more beneficial from a performance standpoint. Of course, it depends on what games you're playing and whether or not your gpu has 1gb of ram or not. On the other hand, if you need a lot of hard drive space and aren't playing the latest graphically intense games, the hard drive might be a better choice.d-rtyboy
Well, the 4870's got 512MB RAM on it, but it still runs a lot of games beautifully. I actually want to buy Grand Theft Auto IV and I've heard that it's pretty intensive. Though you recommended upgrading the memory, would there be other advantages to buying the hard drive? Boot time, faster loading of applications, ect?
Hey folks,
My birthday just passed and I'm hoping to buy a few upgrades for my box. Right now, this is what I've got:
CPU: Intel E8400
GPU: Visiontek 4870
HDD: WD 320GB
Mobo: Asus P5E
PSU: Apevia Aqua 700W
RAM: G-Skill 2 x 1GB @800MHz
What I'm looking to upgrade is both the HDD and RAM, but if one would be more adventageous than the other, I'd like that input. I figured I'd get a WD Caviar Black 640GB HDD. I haven't really figured out anything for RAM, but it seems to be getting expensive. Any help would be greatly appreciated =]
Well, I haven't even had a chance to install the drivers! Maybe that's not the problem. I'll try installing some though and let you know what happens. Thanks for your response!
To be honest, I'm not exactly sure what happened or when. I suppose I notcied things going a bit strange a few days ago when I had VERY slow internet - slower than usual anyway. It should be noted that the computer in the other room works fine. I'm not exactly sure what I can give you besides my specs...
OS: Windows 7 RC
ISP: Verizon DSL
I've even formatted my other computer in hopes that things would return to normal, but I'm STILL having this problem. For some reason, I was able to connect to Google at a reasonably fast speed on IE8 (default browser) and even turn up search results. Clicking on the links is another story though. Any help?? Thanks in advance =]
Hey folks. Yesterday, I was putting back a borrowed SATA cable in my other computer, a Dell Dimension 8400, and upon turning it on, I heard an awful beeping noise soon coupled with a loud noise. When I opened the computer, I found that it was the CPU fan that was the culprit and it was blowing out air like nothing else. I've had a similar experience while in school and found out that it was the CPU overheating. Could this be the case for me as well?
