It's good that they didn't just let him do it. If someone is going to commit suicide you don't just LET them. If you have time to stop it you should try to. Also, if they saw it happening, had time to pull the safety switch and didn't do anything they would not only run the risk of being found liable, but they would also have to deal with having seena man go through a wood chipper.

I've heard of a few men who have fallen into them accidentally while working, but I have never heard of someone voluntarily jumping into one!
