Like the others said, you're definitely set for current games, and upcoming games. But as for a few years? Technology moves too fast to say. Your set up may be fine, but then again, it may not. You'll have to just keep track of new hardware and see where things go.

For gaming, definitely the E8400. Most games don't take advantage of quad cores yet, so a high-end core 2 duo will do great.

For the graphics card, go with the ATI 4870. Great price, unbelievable performance.

It's definitely not a thing of the past. People just get hyped about new and upcoming games, but I bet they still play Cod4. I've been playing it a lot lately, and have been trying to get a bunch of the harder achievements.

You're pretty safe with 2GB of ram, but I would recommend 4GB just to be set for future games that require more power. Also, DDR3 is a little early because DDR2 is not at all outdated and won't be for a while. I bought 4GB's of Corsair Ram (DDR2) from Newegg.com for $66 (after rebate).

Well, the game is very poorly optimized, so it kills most cards, if not all. ATI's 4870 runs pretty well though. You should check out some benchmarks for it.

CM Stackerartiedeadat40

I'm asking about the two I mentioned. The CM Stacker is cool, but far too expensive for my taste.

The new improved Cosmos is ok, just saw it at FRY's the other day. But I still say STACKER, it's the biggest interior except for the Cosmos. So many people go with the ARMOR, I guess they think it looks cool or something...I've never been about looks though, thus the reason I own the butt ugly car I do...but she's got it where it counts.2005wrxsti

I'm not really wanting to pay more than $150 for a case. I checked out the Armor cases from Thermaltake, and am not too impressed by them. I don't really think the design is that nice. Thanks for the reply though, I appreciate it.

Hey guys,

I'm wanting a little advice or input on these two cases (linked below). I'm currently upgrading my entire comp and am not sure which of these cases would be a better buy in terms of quality, design, features etc..

Here are the two cases:
Cooler Master Cosmos 1000

Raidmax Smilodon Extreme Black

My brother just bought the Raidmax Smilodon case (Raidmax Smilodon), and I'm pretty impressed with it as far as its pricing, quality, and features. He has a GeCube 3870 512mb and an Artic Cooler (cpu cooler), and I realize it is a little bit of a tight fit. But aside from it being a tad bit cluttered, it is a really great looking case, has really good airflow from what I've seen, and it very very easy to build because of it's two fold-out doors (check link above). I've done a lot of research on these two cases, but want to get some input from people on these forums.

What I'm looking for in a case is: great airflow, quiet when running, nice design, ease of use, and a price tag of $150 or lower.

Thanks.
