I've played D2 for many years and it remains my most favorite game. That being said, I find the new loot system to be a welcome change.

Getting great items in D2 was still a function of trading endlessly if you were one of the extreme few that did not run a bot 24/7. And in D3, getting items meant being creative on the AH. So, I prefer an incentive to kill more mobs rather than hunting down trade rooms or deals on the AH.
