[QUOTE="LordelX"]Sounds kind of cool, but how is this PS3 device at playing video games? I hear it still has a long way to go before it does that well.VERS1ON

It actually plays the games well - quite the reliable system. (Nice try, though - I believe you're thinking of a box console) ;)

Actually, I was more thinking of it's backwards compatibility. The remodeled version without the emotion engine is probably the one I'll end up getting, because I can't afford the current price. So it'll be a few years before I can get one. Anyway, sounds like the PS3 has alot of cool features, I just wish that they put as much effort into games as they did the cool little features. But, it will all come about in time.

The GBA micro only plays GBA games, but the original Gameboy Advance, Gambeoy Advance SP and the Gamecube's Gameboy Player all play Gameboy Color games and original black and white Gameboy games.

I have both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons. They are excellent Zelda games. Definately worth picking up one of the aforementioned systems in order to play.

Luigi's Mansion is pretty sub-par. I imagine you're looking for only top quality Gamecube games, so I suggest the following:

Since you didn't get what you were looking for with Crystal Chronicles...Skies of Arcadia Legends and Tales of Symphonia are two high quality RPG's for the Gamecube. If you don't mind a little Mario in your RPG, Paper Mario and the thousand Year Door is one of the best games for the Gamecube. At this point, they might be a little difficult to find.

As for top-quality, Resident Evil Remake, Resident Evil 4, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, Soul Caliber 2, Fire Emblem: Path of Radience, Battalion Wars, F-Zero GX and Eternal Darkness are all excellent, fairly exclusive experiences to the Gamecube.

Since you already like Metriod Prime and Pikmin, be sure to check out their sequels: Metriod Prime 2: Echoes and Pikmin 2.

The worst mistake Squaresoft made with Crystal Chronicles was calling it a "Final Fantasy" game. It's hack and slash dungoen crawling gameplay, it which you play the same levels over and over again to make your characters stronger, and collect items. It was modelled after the hugely popular "Phantasy Star Online" without the online component of course. The online was replaced with Gamecube to Gameboy Advance connectivity. This game is nothing like the rest of the "Final Fantasy" series, in fact, if there was an existing franchise that it could be compared to, I would say it is closer to SquareEnix's "Secret of Mana".

Is it a good game? If you play with friends it's a blast. If you play with friends, you find you get adddicted to building your character, even when playing by yourself, so that you can be more successful playing multiplayer.

If you play the game solo, it's very, very oversimplistic and linear. I'm not surprised that you aren't enjoying it. I wouldn't either.

Now that used GBAs are the price of a controller or less, pick up at least two and play with a friend. It is much more fun this way.

The only console I have is a Gamecube with my Gameboy Player. Between my collection of GBA and Gamecube games, I have more than enough games to play on the Cube.

I'm definately with you on the love for Cube. It's my favorite console of all time.

Goldeneye would probably be the only N64 game from Rare, other than Diddy Kong Racing or Donkey Kong 64, to appear on the VC. With Goldeneye, you have the problem of who has the James Bond license, which belongs to EA currently. Other franchises such as Perfect Dark, Conker and Banjo-Kazooie are more likely to end up on Xbox Live Arcade than the Wii's VC, due to the fact that those are all flagship franchises for the Xbox 360 now.

It sold decent, too. Over 22 million.Nintendogamer33

Exactly. 22 million systems in which Nintendo made a profit of all of them. I don't know about PS2, but that's better than Xbox did. Also, the fact that many Wii users who didn't have a Cube are shocked at the quality of a good portion of the games shows that the library was no slouch. The Gamecube was a success.

Yet, it was third place by selling 22 million. Think about what that really means though. Ten years ago, third place sold less than 2 million systems. The fact that Nintendo was able to push 22 million Gamecubes into consumers hands in third place shows an incredible progression.

This generation, no matter what machine ends up coming in third, it's still not going to be a bad place to be. The days of measuring the success of a console as compared to it's competitors is OVER. Get used to that.

No. Funny though....I actually wouldn't mind a Gamecube version of Metriod Prime 3, I'd probably get it over the Wii version. But the Gamecube is dead. It wouldn't be a smart financial decision.
