[QUOTE="Lostboy1224"][QUOTE="Shenmue_Jehuty"] Nice pick up on the Final Fantasy. I never did get to play that one when I was younger. If I can get it for a good price like you did I would love to give it a go this summer. There is one seller I know who has about 100 NES games for sale and I'd say 30 of them are good/valuable games. Not sure if I'm going to run into some of them again anytime soon. He has Metroid, Adventure Island 3, Mike Tyson's Punchout, Mega Man 1, Mario 2, Bubble Bobble, Contra, Duck Tales, and so on. Around here the better games are scarce or resellers charge a crap load for them.Emerald_Warrior

The NES and SNES are probably the worst systems to collect for right niow because the prices on many of the games are very inflated. I only pick up games on those systems on the cheap at the moment at flea markets (from non-resellers) and a few untapped resources I use. If you go any place else people are charging insane amounts of money for even Mario/Duck Hunt.

SNES, yeah, it's getting ridiculous. But NES games I seem to be able to find for cheap, still.

Yes, thank God I held onto most of my SNES collection. I do regret lending Adventures of Batman and Robin to a friend, and then hearing he moved to a new town a week later.

I do run into the those people who love to slap on a $20 sticker for anything Mario related. Hoping the price gouging bubble bursts within the next year, but probably won't.

I don't mind people buying/selling on Ebay, but I hate it when I go into a store or flea market and the sellers don't even know what to charge until they look up Ebay on their phone or computer. So if they see some a-hole payed $20 more then he should have I get f'd over it as the seller usually wants way too much. There are certain games that should never be more than $3, yet they charge $7-$8. I just try and make connections with guys who are collectors too and aren't out to screw over other people and give fair prices. Just because it has Mario on the cover doesn't automatically make it a $30 rare game. Ughhh.

[QUOTE="Lostboy1224"]My goal is to get all the Mega Mans for the NES this summer. Its helps a lot when you have people willing to trade for stuff they want too. So fingers crossed.Emerald_Warrior

That is quite the pricey goal. Personally, with how much some of those later NES Mega Man games go for, I'd just go for the Mega Man Anniversary Collection on XBox or PS2 (I've heard they ruined the GameCube version's controls).

Yeah, it isn't going to be cheap, but I have had a lot of luck running into games for low prices that other people are looking for. I just get enough good stuff and trade up for the one expensive game or item. If I was just paying straight up cash I wouldn't have a chance, but I know people who have certain games that are willing to trade if you have the right items they want. I'm closing in on a trade for a boxed Mega Man 5. Just need a few more items to lock up the trade with. Since its summer and there are so many flea markets and yard sales its easier then I thought it was going to be.

Bought the following....

Gameboy:

  • Pokemon Blue $1
  • Metroid 2 $3

NES:

  • Tiny Toons Adventures $1
  • Little Mermaid $1
  • Tecmo NBA Basketball $1

Wii:

  • Super Mario Bros. Wii $3

Traded everything but the Pokemon blue for NES Mega Man 2, 3 straight up. So I was pretty happy.

Can't choose just one. My top 5 new and old are ....

  1. Secret of Mana
  2. Bioshock
  3. Super Mario World
  4. The Last of Us
  5. Left 4 Dead

These are the games I enjoyed the most out of my 20+ years of gaming fun.

Honorable mention: Street Fighter II, Super Mario 3, Mega Man 1-3, Secret of Evermore, Star Fox, Legend of Zelda, Resident Evil 4, and Contra.

BF4 will be nice to see what has changed from the last game. Adding more players will mix things up for the console crowd. I really like the team work and the way the guns feel in the Battlefield series. Getting wore out on COD for now. Might try it down the road, but would rather have something different to play.
